E-hobby has updated there pre-order page for Transformers Encore-08 Meister. The update doesn't include any new pictures, however it does state that Meister will be re-issued with a new head mold and will also come with Cassetticon Condor (Laserbeak)

A new head mold? Umm, neat, but also unnecessary, as his head looked nearly identical to all his depictions in fiction.

And he comes with Laserbeak? That's kinda random... :-?

Intresting, but I wanna see it before passing financial judgement.

Well, I hope the new head is better :) . I have it on pre-order on HLJ, I don't have Jazz.

About Laserbeak it's a bit strange, but it would be better if it was Buzzsaw since that one doesn't come with any reissue... (oh, and I want it because I already have Laserbeak from the Hasbro reissue :P)

BTW, they could add the insecticon army to the Encore series :D .

... maybe they were in the same scene for 10 seconds in the G1 movie...

I wonder if they are just doing that as a "gesture" for the people buying it. Let's face it: the figures aren't cheap but, compared to their price from the good ol days, we're looking at around a 400% inflation. Throwing in a cassette may be a way of saying: "You're paying a lot for this and we thank you; here's a little something extra for the trouble..."

Just a thought.

Jazz played one of the casettes in at least one episode, I can't remember if it was Laserbeak or not. As for the head sculpt, hopefully it's his original head from the Stepper mold.

Maybe it is in reference to the fact that the head was a bit mangled in the TFC issue. It was corrected for the Stepper version, though.

Well thought, it was Laserbeak in fact. That would be a good reason. But still, Buzzsaw would be more interesting for a reissue.

Um...what's the point? It isn't like Bumblebee or Trailbreaker or Brawn, whose faces really don't match the cartoon versions; or Ironhide and Ratchet, who didn't have REAL faces to begin with (and IMO probably better deserved remolds instead of cardboard punch-out heads). Jazz's head sculpt looks exactly (O.K., MOSTLY) like the cartoon/comic versions to begin with.

Strange bit of news. Does the Hasbro version have the messed up head? Including Laserbeak is a very odd choice.

Yes, the Hasbro version has the weird smile head too.

Adding Laserbeak is a cool idea. I wonder if we'll get more gift sets after the minibots.

The inclusion of Laserbeak probably comes from the ep. Countdown to Extinction. The Autobots are trapped in quicksand. Megatron decides to leave Laserbeak to record the demise of the Autobots. Upon the departure of the Decepticons, Laserbeak is shot by Mirage. As he falls, he transforms into a cassette and is caught by Jazz who then plays Laserbeak in his cassette deck after the Autobots escape from the quicksand.

(he does so by throwing the cassette up into the air, transforming, opening his roof like the toy, and catching the cassette in his deck)
No doubt about it, Jazz has style. :)

Jazz: "Hey Optimus, Howdja like to hear number one on the Decepticon hot cassette charts?"

Optimus: "As I beleive the Earthlings say, lay it on me, man."

It was ravage that he played don't remember which episode it was. I think it was during the original minseries that launched the series.

Buzzsaw has been re-issued. He, along, w/Ravage, was included w/Soundblaster when he was re-issued. It's just that Laserbeak has seen more re-issues than Buzzsaw has.... :?

LOL - Classic G1 cheese

The new head seems interesting, I have a TFC Stepper so if Jazz's head sculpt is slightly different then that'll help differentiate them alittle more.

The Cassette is totally out of the blue, it's awesome that Takara is mixing things up abit by adding little extras - I wonder what goodie Omega Supreme will come will?

Too bad I already have a Laserbeak in my Soundwave... I wish Jazz had Buzzsaw instead.

:???: :???: Stepper is already a completely different color scheme, how could you not tell him & Jazz apart?

Yeah yeah, I know there colour schemes are basically the exact oppersites of each other but the head being different will change it from being just a repaint into a retool which is better in my opinion.

This is very interesting but strange. I wonder if there is a translation error.

seems the condor thing was a mistake, somebody says its been deleted from teh hobby site.

i always assumed this encore reissue would use the imporoved stepper mould, i wish they would give him back his wider metal parts to his feet over the slimmer g2 mould.

I knew that the Condor info was a mistake. Either my optics are failing me but I believe Condor/Lazerbeak has already been re-issued with Soundwave Encore. He's the dude in red as opposed to gold Buzzsaw. FYI, it's Buzzsaw whose had a lot of re-issues, Lazerbeak 1st got his break with TRU Soundwave.

And that is 100% true that the new "head" will be the Stepper" version head. This one is a 99% recreation of the 1984 Jazz head. The only foreseable changes will be the narrow feet and the "Martinii Porche" labels plus the multicolor stripping color on the rear wheels.

New head or not. I'll be getting this as G1 Jazz was one of my favorite toy designs. Also, I really like Porsche cars.

Not exactly very exciting.
I dont know why they would want to remold his head.
It looks fine to me.
And yeah laserbeak is sorta random.

Laserbeak - Red. Came packaged with TRU issue Soundwave, and Ravage.
Buzzsaw - Gold. Packaged originally with Soundwave back in the day, and with the Encore reissue.
Screw - both of them. We're long overdue for Rumble, Frenzy and Ratbat reissues. :D
