BBTS Orange Capped Megatron TFC #06

We have seen reports for a while that BBTS intended to carry a modified version of the Takara Megatron TFC #06 re-issue, however we have not seen pictures. BBTS intended to modify the gun barrel with a blaze orange plug, in order to meet the requirements of selling the toy gun in the United States. BBTS has finally released pictures of the modified gun, which is now in stock at their store.

The orange plug is very similar to the custom plug, which BBTS is adding to their supplies of MP Megatron. Click here to see the pictures of the modified version of TFC Megatron. Then click here to compare it with their pictures of MP Megatron.

The real question remains: is the ugly orange plug from BBTS easily removed like the MP Megatron plugs coming from HLJ?

Unless they go through with gluing the plug in there, it seems like it would be easy to remove.

I seriously see no problem with this. I think they made a nice compromise. It's not too glaring, and it seems to be easy to remove.

I wouldn't complain, that's for sure.

That could realy be worse. If it wrapped over the barrel, you'd be ruined.

As for me, I have my G1 and the special D-16 from a few years back so I'm good.

Still, my best to the rest of you!

if this thing were sold in toystores and to kids i could understand, however stupid, why they would do this...but this is a pretty damn expensive figure so obviously no kids will be buying or even receiving it.....it'll be sold and bought by collectors

i just feel bad if they ever make an MP galvatron or shockwave...those caps will look really bad..lol

I feel the same way but I guess the laws are just that...Laws. And BBTS is trying to abide by them. However I think they are hinting that the plug CAN be removed.
Also, Galvatron wouldn't require a modded blaze orange tip cause he already has one.

Agreed. That looks like it could easily be sawed off or removed through other ways. After Botcon and my move, I might be looking into getting one of these.

I picked up a MISB TFC-6 from Toynk.com a month ago with no issues at all. Is BBTS the only ones using the orange plug on it, I haven't seen anyone else putting a plug on the TFC-6 reissue.

One big difference between MP Megs & TFC 6 Megs.....the latter actually has a plastic bullet-firing mechanism inside, of which the cap would obstruct use of it unless removed.

Thankfully, I got mine a couple of years ago unmodified.

Even still, with all this big hooplah about caps on Megs....would this possibly be seen as a sign that perhaps Hasbro is pushing people's buttons to see how well a capped Megs would sell in the US so they can do it themselves?? hmm....

maybe the reason why some stores don't have issues with customs is the way they get shipped and packaged

The orange plug on TFC 6 also prevents the silencer from being attached, so you have a worthless accessory. BBTS also states on the MP-05 that the plug is placed in the barrel with adhesive, so I'm sure removing it will be quite difficult and could really mess up the figure. I'm sure the plug on TFC 6 is glued in as well.

Now, I regret buying this from BBTS, and not HLJ. I know I will ruin this figure If they glued it on. Any tips removing the orange top anyone?

I got a MP Megs Unplugged no problem. I imagine if you have a case of them with the writing on the box that it is Megatron, you might have trouble at customs...if they can read japanese.

I have an plugged version from BBTS waiting to be mailed too. I'll probably just resell that one to recoup some of my losses in the purchases as of late, but I might hold onto it for the purpose of nostalgia--look at the lengths that companies have to go to now, to get collectors their desired toys--.

I bought mine of eBay in january. It arrived in the UK unmodded and everything from Hong Kong alright. Its a shame they've had to blight the figures with this orange crap

Galvatron wouldn't require an orange cap at all, he's a tank-like vehicle.

I doubt any law enforcement officer would mistake Galvatron for a real artillery cannon.

I doubt any law enforcement officer would mistake Galvatron for a real artillery cannon.
but he also has a gun mode by flipping the treads over & folding the back support down.

But even with his gun mode, Galvy wouldn't get one because his gun barrel is clear orange.
