Is KO Ratbat worth getting???

I need Ratbat to finish off my G1 tapes, but I really don't want to spend $70+ on him IF the KO Ratbat is decent. As in he won't snap into pieces when I transform him, or have paint chip off...you get the idea.
Any help would be appreciated.

Personally I wouldn't consider the collection complete/finished if
it included a knock off. I don't even consider reissues true G1's though. I'm pretty picky.

you would call it complete, nobody else will.
it all depends on what you want to do with it.. if it just sits on a shelf and you only show it off once or twice in a year.. who cares..
if you consider yourself a collector.. there's only one option..

And did I hear that the KO's don't actually fit into reissued Soundwave's chest?

Do what you dig. Its your collection and if you dont mind a KO than go for it. Im a casual collector if there is a reissue g1 available I wont bother with an original. So my only original g1's are MIB Mirage, Shockwave and Wheeljack. Everything else is a reissue.

Reprolabels to the rescue! If you're happy with a KO, then that's all that matters really. I owned one or two knock off cassettes when I was younger and they were fine as far as I remember. However if it's true that they don't fit into Soundwave, then that may be a different matter...

I'd be concerned about very loose ear pieces on a KO.
My son has a KO Rumble and Frenzy. The stickers wear very easily, but the plastic, while inferior, is still ok.
I wouldn't buy the KO, but that's my style.

The new knockoff ratbat DOES fit in soundwave. I have him in there right now.

Well I put myself in the hardcore casual collector section. I love all things G1 (and slowly growing into BW), but I own half original and half Takara reissues.
Still my main concern with Ratbat is the quality of his plastic. I have no problems with having a KO in the collection AS LONG AS it won't snap in half the first time I transform him.

The plastic on mine feels the same of my G1 cassettes. I've transformed him a 1000 times with now problems.

Thanks SauronTD. I was hoping for that answer. Guess I'll go out on a limb and pick one up.

My KO Ratbat has very loose wings at the shoulder, and claws on the wings, but the plastic is solid, the metal is sound, he fits in SoundWave, and looked just like the original. No real beef here. You might be able to find it with Frenzy for 30$. Good luck with that, though.
