Whoa. Nice! It looks like it's in tip-top shape, too.
We have to ask, how much did it run you?

Overlord=one of my favorite toys ever!!!
So much so that I had to have two!

One Japanese version, and one UK. And no besides the box, and bios, there really is no difference.

awesome!
i never knew this toy was released outside of Japan, been looking for a good condish one for years. just love this reverse-combiner (one of the few in TF history, i could only name Armada Tidal Wave and BW Magmatron among this category) and the base mode rocks too. been a huge fan of Overlord since watching Transformers: Masterforce a long, long time ago.
'gratz!

Would you count the Duocons? They fit the bill, sorta.
Overlord looks awsome! I've known about him for years(through Masterforce), but it's been awhile since I had a look at his figure. He definitely is a sharp looking transformer, and I didn't realize it had a little car. Great looking base mode, shame it was only used once in the show.

the base mode? i think if i remember it correctly (i'll have to dig out those DVDs later...ehhh) it was used more than once, most notably when the Destron's base was destroyed by a combined attack by Ginrai and Grand Maximus a few eppys near the end.

Just about the best Christmas of my childhood was when Overlord arrived. One of the few times where I got exactly what I wanted.
I still have him stored complete in the box. It's probably my only original still in perfect nick.
In Europe he was released at the same time as the 3 'motorvators'(brainmasters).

I guess Road Caesar could be his arch nemesis, if they'd actually bothered to supply the combiner parts. Stupid Hasbro.
I believe Overlord is about as big a decepticon as they ever made. He's roughly the size of Scorponok.

Impressive toy indeed. But I've never seen a Scorponok in person, so as a guide for size, how tall would these guys be in bot mode standing next to Fort/Brave Maximus in bot mode?

... less impressive. Fortress Maximus towers over anything.

I should amend that by saying 'in G1'. I believe some of the Unicron Trilogy Supreme class figures may be slightly larger.

OverLord is real awesome, I remember how happy I was when I won mine.
I wanna set him up in base mode, but he looks so dam cool towering over the rest of my Decepticons that I might have to save up and shell out for another

Well I know that much, lol. I was just wondering where he'd come up to on Max. Around Sixshot's size?(G1)

Interesting... all three? I really wanted them at the time, but no dice. Never saw one in person.
Can you confirm that Hasbro left out the parts to complete Road Caesar? I don't recall any mention of him in any of the European release stuff.

... Y'see the thing is, I mostly wanted to talk up just how awesome Overlord is, but since you push me to it, truth is he can barely sniff Fort Max's crotch.

Bloody hell! Fort Max is fricking HUGE!
Seeing Overlord in this thread got me researching all the Japanese G1 series and now I have a massive list of Victory figures that I'm searching for. I'll have Deszaras leading my Decepticons some day!

well all their weapons fitted together but that was about it, there were no extra parts that made them combine (not in mine anyway). My Gripper was Black and Orange, so looks better than that one. They were ok toys, id never heard of them. I just assumed they were new tf's just to make toys, maybe in a cartoon or something

It looks to me like the basic combination is just Gripper standing on top of Flame and Lightspeed. It looks like their heads basically just slot into his feet. Do you still have them, or did you ever try that? Without the big head and armour, it'd probably look less like a combiner and more like kid robots disguised as an adult.
I got a
booklet at the time that explained how the motorvators were basically the Autobot's answer to Overlord. I don't think it was the same deal as in the Japanese cartoon.

I can confirm that the UK Motorvators do not come with combination pieces. I bought flame (love the Countach--kind of don't like the pink though--although I suppose of Minelba is a female repaint of Nightbeat, Flame is the female repaint of this mold), and he did not come with the shield/knee, or foot that my Takara version of the same mold has (I always forget if he is Blacker, Laster, or Braver)...
