Problems With My Leader Prime's Feet Automorph

The problem is, simply put, is that when I attempt to slide the grille tab back to make the toes pop out, the grill tab doesn't stay completely back, often times flipping back into its position, so the feet don't stay out. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution? Thanks.

My regular leader doesn't have that problem. However my Night Watch Prime, his toes flip back about half way.

They stay in possition while standing though, so I just figure it is what it is.

I also have this problem, again on the Nightwatch Prime (but mine is the UK version with the copper paint apps and no allspark teal).

Having recently extracted 'Nemesis Frenzy' from Battle Scenes Barricade recently (not to mention putting a new spring in Leader Megatron's right hand), I'm growing quite confident about taking TFs apart to fix them. I'll give it a go tonight and see what happens.

I was led to believe that Movie Scene Barricade just had a pannel covering where Frenzy would go because of the no possable one.

Are you saying that there is indeed one inside there, but they sealed it off anyway?

That's a D**K move Hasbro!

Yeah, he's a completely black (unpainted) Frenzy, but there's some kind of restrictor piece in there so you can't remove him without a bit of screwdriver surgery! In fact, the black Frenzy and the restrictor plate are the ONLY differences between regular Barricade and Screen Battle Barricade (all the other Screen Battles deluxes got a repaint to some extent)

There's a whole thread about it here:

Which, Liege Evilmus, I see you even contributed to! Memory problems, perhaps?! #-o

Actualy, Yeah :D

I remembered that conversation which is why I said "I was lead to believe..."

I was real let down when I heard they left that piece out, and I've been boycotting that set because of it!

But to hear that they included the part, but blocked it up, man that is a low blow :-x !

DISASTER!!!!

No sooner had I unscrewed Prime's right foot open, than a spring inside the foot leapt out at me!

The spring flew aross the room behind me. I've just spent the last half hour on my hands and knees trying to find that spring, to no avail. Now poor Prime's toes are in a worse state than they started with!

Looks like I'll have to order another one. Guess it's a good thing Argos do 24hr delivery. £40 (80USD) down the toilet!

Err... forget that last post! Found the spring eventually!

Turns out there was a slight misalignment in the cogs on my Nightwatch Prime's left foot. Now I've lined them up a bit better, the automorph toes work fine.

But a word of warning to anyone else who tries this...

Watch out for flying springs!

I had the exact same problem with my Original Leader Prime. On one foot, I would do the Automorph, but it wouldn't stay locked in place. I ended up taking the foot apart, and removing the spring altogether. Have had a problem since, and the Automorph works fine.

Alas, I didn't take any photos, so I'll try to describe it.

Unscrew the three screws on OP's inner calf. This will allow you to remove the foot.

There are three screws on the upper face of the foot (the side with the big ball joint). Unscrew these and open it up. You'll see that the toe section has a cog, plus there is a seperate white cog, and a black strip of plastic with cog teeth and a spring.

It's hard to describe how they're supposed to line up, but what I did was open up both feet and compare the duff foot with the working one.
