Doesn't allages3andup.com have them too, it almost looks like this one? But it's a ok repaint ( I might have gotten that web addy wrong...) :)

if you look closely you can see the paint is already wearing on the joints so won't last with any sort of handling at all.

If you ask me it looks like the effect of Game's Workshop paint ... bah ...

Anyways it still needs more black details down in the rills ... if you understand ? :-P ... like Warhammer figures ...

the problem with repainting is that you have to make sure it's done right...you have to put a coat of matte clear over top, so that if there's any wear, it'll wear the clear before the color wears at all...

For this reason I am very hesitent to do any repainting work (even though there have been a few releases over the years that are crying out for it).

I like the colors chosen for this repaint, even if the job isn't liked by everyone. I understand why Takara went with the colors they did, but I still feel it was a mistake. At any rate, I still like mine and have it displayed next to my 20th Op and MP Magnus.

That's sharp.

Automotive paint. The kind to paint your car. I painted a Boba Fett helmet (life size, wearable), keys won't even scratch the paint.

I just want to know if anyone's tried it on TFs...

Do I have to be the first one? :p

I don't care what anyone says. This is how he should have been painted from the start. And if someone says it was for accuracy sake I'll personally kick your ass.

I've been seriously thinking about picking up the MP-03 from 3andup. I just wanted someone else to do it first, ;-), so that I could get some type of review. With repaints, I have a definate phobia about chipping and paint wear.

now THATS starscream. i'd buy that in a heartbeat (if put out by takara) and boot my green one to the curb.

THAT looks more realistic than the one they came out with.

Would it dry thin enough to work in Starscream's joints so they are still easy to flex?

I don't know. I've never used it on action figures before. Just my Fett helmet, so it's hard to say...

The winning bid was $304.00 -- I'll pass on that. He looks nice but that's the way MP Screamer should have been done to begin with. Knowing how Takara is, I imagine we'll get a special release anime/cartoon accurate one one of these days. I'll just sit tight until then.

it would have been about $100 bucks cheaper to get a3u.com to do it....

That looks a lot more realistic. I would difinatly buy that over the original greenish colored one. If you squint your eyes a little and place him against a photo background, you'd swear he was a real jet.

He hasn't coloured the tailfins. Is that to maintain a more realistic look?

You might be disappointed to find out that the price on agesthreeandup.com is just to have him repainted. You have to supply your own MP-03.

I know, but 160ish sure as hell beats the price of a custom jobs 300 price tag on ebay, especially if it is a HQ repaint.
