How big are the Classic Constructicons?

Compared to the Universe Constructicons and the original G1 Constructicons?
I'd love to get them, but I don't know if they're worth the $60+ they're going for on eBay. Does anyone have any pictures of them next to other constructicons for reference?

Classics Devastator is about an inch to an inch and a half taller than G1 Devastator.

So does that mean each figure is also a bit larger than the G1 versions? Would you say they're "basic" size, or "scout" size, or what?

Yes they are larger especially the center piece which was called steamhammer from the energon series. So you would have 4-basics and one deluxe. Scavanger is the deluxe chest piece.

Man, it would be both great and cool to see comparison pictures.

I've wondered that myself.

The limbs are four scout class figures and center piece is a deluxe but they are total piece of s*** because stand at any odd angle and large robot head is not dead center on the body among other things.

Each limb is a Scout class toy, with the body being a Deluxe class. When they combine they're the size of an Ultra class toy.
If you want my opinion on the figure itself, it might be worth getting if you can pick it up at a cheaper price than what stores offer. The individual figures themselves aren't at all bad (I like them alot, to be honest), but the combined form is a bit iffy. Due to how huge the wheels are on the two loader figuress, everything stands at a very wonky angle so balance suffers immensely. If you can find a way around this, then Devestator is an okay toy.

I've been looking for excuses to take pictures lately....when I get home later tonight, I'll get all three out and take some comparison pics if no one else has today.

I'm surprised that not every one of the responses thus far have been filled with hate about how the Classic Constructicons are an embarrasment to the name Constructions. I like these figures, and once again, I must own the only three Energon combiners and inly set of Classics Constructicons in existence that don't suffer from some horrible balance issue.

Good point--I would have expected the "Universe Constructicons Suck" crowd to be more vocal, too. I'm with you, though--no problems with mine, and I dig the green G1-style paint job on the Universe release.

Would you guys say the Universe ones are better or worse than the Classic ones?

Better, the Universe ones are just MIcromasters held together by connecting pieces.

I thought he was talking about the RID Landfill repaint?...
We may need to go back to square one and clarify the actual topic of the original post.....

Anyway, here's a pic of Classics Devastator (on the left), Universe (RID Landfill) Devastator (on the right), and Universe Micromaster Devastator. Classics and the RID Universe Devastators can be formed different ways, obviously--these are just my preferences. I'll try to update later with a pic of all of them broken down and in vehicle and bot modes...
Honestly, I don't think Classics Devastator is as bad as some people say, even for a simple repaint...

Classics Devastator was a steal at Wal-Mart's asking price, and I regret skipping it. Again. And again. And again. It's not quite as must-have for the insane prices Classics usually command these days.

I got the Classics Devastator early.
My verdict: Two Thumbs Down.

It would be more fun to get a swift kick in the nuts than own classic Devastator or any of his energon brothers.

I hope Hasbro makes a true Classics Devastator someday.
Not some repaint job from another line.

I happen to be a fan of the mold, though sadly I managed to miss both the second wave energon limbs AND the Classic multi pack...digging through eBay for that myself. I think the set manages to portray Devastators somewhat unorthadox combiner form better than any other version...Devastator is Supposed to look lopsided and wonky on proportions. Just look at the G1 form. Its actualy the only complaint I have with the micromaster form, its way too smooth for the feel I'd like to see for him.

What i don't like about this mold is the presences of "twins".
And there's even 2 pairs of twins. Basically cutting the unique molds to only 3.

i personally dont think its bad at all, i have the Micro's, and the Classics, i still prefer the look of the G1 origional though. But im an old stick in the mud, i prefer G1 over 99% of the modern toys. The modern toys just dont seem to have any soul if you get what i mean

I know what you mena....I've never had the pleasure of owning G1 Devastator, but I have a few bootleg copies, and he really is a very fun mold. It always kind of surprises me how much more innovative he was than the other G1 combiners. Really a great design.
