There a preorder listing on BBTS for MP-04 arriving in March. I wonder if Takara is making another run or is this just left over stock?

I went ahead and pre-ordered one, since my MP Prime is kind of makeshift. Took a 20th Anniversary Prime and added aftermarket full length smokestacks and have the JT trailer. Will be nice to have a complete set with box.

Agash, only 250 bucks but I can't see me coming into that much free cash by March. It sucks being broke all the time.

So I preordered 2. Yep Im a jerk. Im gonna get two, if I can, and sell one on ebay to help offset the costs of them.

Yes Im a jerk, I realize that. But I can't afford this bad boy straight up and i gotta get it.

I hope it's a new run. Maybe Takara saw how successful the following runs of MP-05 went, and decided to try it on Optimus. If so, I would imagine more suppliers offering MP-04 and thus the price coming down a bit.

I remember BBTS was the first to offer Masterpiece Megatron for it's second run back in September. They were still going for $200+ on Ebay. Now the market is flooded with them and they are floating around $100.

Plus I can't imagine BBTS selling MP-04 for ONLY $250 if this was a one-off batch they found somewhere.

I don't see anything wrong with that. Collecting TF's is an expensive hobby. Now going into a store a buying their entire stock just to turn a buck, that's being a jerk. Buying one extra and selling at a reasonable price to offset your cost is okay in my book. I did the same thing with the Wal-Mart MP Starscream, in fact is still haven't got around to selling the extra.

As I write this my mind churns on how I can avoid a resale of the second Prime for a profit. I hate that. If I can figure a way I'll dump it at cost to the first person with the cash. Or Paypal.

Well, if I can help a TF fan get MP Prime at cost and save them some cash, I think its worth it.

Thanks for the heads up ZenPrime. I almost went for a $400 BIN eBay deal (local pick up save on shipping), that seller had about 6 of them up at the same time couple nights ago, and he claimed all of them at least have a corner dinged up. I hesitated and decided to back out, cuz spending $400 on a MP-04 set I would like to get a really nice sealed package. Also it alerted me to question if Takara (or the contracted manufacturing factory itself?) is making more production runs?

Anyway, I placed my pre-order with BBTS too, let's just pray that 1) they are not bootlegs & 2) BBTS will stick with their pre-order price.

Come March! Gimme all you got!

pretty sure BBTS doesn't mess with KO's. they have always been solid to me. though they seem to be slowly bumping up their prices more and more.

and i had to preorder atleast one. but the question is....do i take him out of the box....dun dun dun.

I think if Takara was making another production run of this, then BBTS would have announced it like they did with MP Megatron.

I cant really remember what I payed for mine when it was originally out but compared to ebay, this is a great price as MP04 always ends at $300-$400+ in auction format.

I've seen on bbts.com and digitaltoys.com that they have pre-orders for Masterpiece MP-4 Optimus Prime with trailer due to be available on March 2008. Does anyone know anything about Takara Tomy making another run on this Masterpiece? I've contacted http://www.hlj.com and tfzone.co.uk and they still don't have info about it. I sure hope there will be a new run for this Masterpiece!

Does anyone know how where to contact Takara Tomy by e-mail or a website form? I'd like to confirm this because if they sell again this one I wanna switch my 20th Anniversary DVD Masterpiece for this one. The ones currently on eBay, etc are too much expensive...

EDIT: I didn't see that there was already a thread about this and my post got moved to this thread. So it seems a bit out of place from everything said before... but I've read all that was said now that I saw it was moved over here. What counts is the intention . The best price to buy from Portugal is on HobbyLink Japan or tfzone.co.uk, so I hope they'll have it, especially HLJ, it's the cheapest place as they don't scale their prices like bbts... and the shipping cost is real and acceptable.
