Also on display were the Encore Jazz figure, Music Label Optimus Prime and the entire first wave of Japanese Classics figures (Transformers Henkei)

trans scan prime is awesome, because hes very possibles, and because he has so many parts. its almost limitless on how many ways you can display him.

so, how would you display him? for you rich people i guess you'd buy 4 or 5 boxes.

me? i think ill have him in red with half his parts missing, like right arm and leg unarmored, and in a defensive stance

The only thing that is cool here IMO is the Transcanning Prime.

I realy like the idea of the TransScanning figures, I hope they're imported at some point, but even if they aren't I'm still gonna get them

Arcee is odd though, on one hand, they did a real good job on the redeco, but her midsection, between the pink and the mold, it looks like she's been mutilated.

Which makes me like it even more, the battle damage folks could learn from this!

Okay, now I'm actually thinking about getting that Music Label Optimus Prime. I don't even have an ipod but I really like the new head.

OK...Trans-scan Prime looks owesome...what amazes me is just how complex the figure is. On one hand we have a protoform figure that can transform into the atmospheric entry mode. On the next hand we have armor that attaches for a fairly realistic looking Prime. On the third hand we have that figure- with attached armor- TRANSFORMING. It's staggering the engineering involved....GREAT toy.

jazz's face is fixed (compared to the hideous collection version although its probably the same fix as for the jp targetmaster repaint). notice his visor is blue!! that looks great.

interesting that the trans scan prime is rather like many recent microman toys with 'armour' over a skinny skeletal frame.

a shame the encore minibot selection wast disclosed here.

The Encore Jazz has an original head mold but now the visor is blue...which is very cool.

Transformers Henkei First wave: set i dont like how megatron and prime look prime has that weird thing on top of him in truck mode if he didnt have that thing i like him, megatorn gun his scope is to big for him in robot mode looks strange everything else in that set i like.

transcanning figures im starting to not like everytime i see them they look like they where made to be in the legend class primes truck doors are on his arms, it proabaly be expensive but if they made the transscanning figures more realaistice to be comapred to the voyager, and deluxe class then i would like them they look to basic legend class to me. if i see them in store and look at the package more or see more images online about the set to pass judgement on them.

but for right now i dont like them never like legend class only legend class figure i own is freanzy legend class reminds me of something yoy would find in happy meal probably only reason why i dont like them to begin with.

So does HASBRO take everything TAKARA does and make it worse or vice versa.

Those classics look amazing. I look at mine and say "What you could have been......"

Bumblebee looks much cleaner than mine… Transcaning Prime looks worth the money after seeing that box, that thing is big!

I don’t think so, just repaints seems like all we’re getting.

I wish Hasbro would still chrome things out on occasion.

Having said that, there's unnecessary use of chrome on some of those.

Dull? Slavish? Covered in seemingly random chrome? Expensive?

The Classics look pretty good.

Does Jazz have a different head as mentioned previously?

To tell you the truth I think Takara’s classics look much better than the originals for the most part. Megatron is an major improvement, Bumblebee is all yellow and actually looks more like his G1 counterpart. As for the chrome, its something I’ve almost missed in TFs for a long time, it doesn’t look too random to me, but more like its replicating how some of the G1 toys looked.

Fair enough, taste is variant for everyone. Personally, I think they just come off as trying to shoe horn in a deco that doesn't really belong.

Heck, Bumblebee I can only agree on having one improvement: painted eyes.

Solid yellow suited Bumblebee's car mode just fine...when it was less than two inches long. I'm not saying that Bumblebee needs flames, but the white deco that Hasbro added certainly broke it up a little.

Here's how I seem 'em:

Megatron - Fair. Does a good job, considering the mold was never designed for those colors.
Starscream - Indifferent.
Grimlock - KO'splosion with his confusing layout for chrome.
Optimus Prime - Indifferent.
Bumblebee - Regression.

I just never got the fuss over chrome (which is funny, considering my favorite G1 guy has the most chrome-centric layout of all!). It's shiny, sure. But it flakes off and wears faster than the rest of the toy, is a huge nuisance to photograph, and captures fingerprints like you wouldn't believe.

the elita figure is incredibly ugly. But that might be my general dislike of pink.

Edit: Looks at signature....

Pink on the toy....

Those Japanese Classics look great. TakaraTomy does the best paint apps on their Transformers. Trans-Scanning Prime looks like a lot of parts waiting to be lost. I hope TransScan BB would be better.

I agree here, the only one that appeals to me is Megatron, although I do feel that the G1 colours only suit Megs in bot form, and the gun mode just looks quite bland looking (somthing I feel all these Takara Classics suffer from)As for the Transcaning Prime again I'm sorry to say I'm not that impressed, a good idea, bit poorley concived I feel, at this stage the only one I would consider buying in the Encore Jazz re-issue, which is sweet.
