This can mean one of two things. 1) They had too many at Best Buy stores and are now getting them back or D) They're FINALLY gonna sell exclusives on HTS.com.
Unfortunatelty the first seems more likely.

Well that just pisses me off considering I spent $40 each on Ebay for the metallic Ratchet and Megatron.
I guess they aren't so limited edition anymore if they are sold en masse!

Seems less likely to me considering I never saw one actually in a Best Buy store and I regularly checked five stores for a few months before giving up. Personally, I'd blame it on poor distribution.

Same could be said for WM Exclusive MP SS. But after seeing 20th Prime hit the clearance aisle (AFTER I bought two no less) Im sure alot of stores were weary to ordering him. Which pisses me off cause I don't know if any Walmart in Northern Illinois had any.

I got the only set (Ratchet and Megatron) from the Okemos Best Buy and from what I understand the Lansing Best Buy never got any.
It's quite possible Best Buy toy distribution is as bad as Wal-Mart

Now, I want them to put up the Megatron one! Mine was pretty smashed, I'd love one with a better package.

I agree with the poor distribution. I got one of each, the only ones I've ever seen, at my local BB probably three days before Christmas this year, even though they came out in November. But my local BB poorly stocks everything, so I figured that these figures were placed on the floor and immediately purchased. I'm glad to have them, but they still aren't that cool. Like one of those if you can get them do, but if not don't feel bad exclusives.

HASBRO continues to keep us on our toes! This time they look to re-release the BEST BUY Exclusive Premium Ratchet online at
hasbrotoyshop.com.
The listing is for $19.99 and has the 'Coming Soon' tag with it.
So will Megatron be following suit? Can we expect other exclusives to make their way there? Only time will tell.
You can join the dicussion
here in JTKranix's already existing thread.

The common thread here seems to be the total lack of appearances of the toys from a good chunk of BB stores around the country. I frequently checked a dozen in my area (north central IL and southern WI) and never found a single figure. This definitely looks to be a total lack of distribution on the part of Best Buy. The potential here for sales was significant especially with the success of the movie and toy lines. If i were Hasbro's legal department i'd be looking at breach of contract with Best Buy for failing to distribute properly and thus- with a large quantity of returned figures being assumed- costing Hasbro hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential sales.

Probably not a bad idea as corporations go. Wasn't the story that each store only had 4 total figures? There is no reason, at all, that a shiny movie figure should be that rare. Exclusive? Fine, but not in such super limited supply. There is always a large number of exclusive figures when they get released to stores. Even the G1 repaints over the summer, like when everyone cried that 'scalpers' had stolen in in the dark of night and purchased all the Jazz and Starscreams from Target, thus bankrupting the lives of children everywhere, there were still a ton of those around my area. But the BB figures, that was rediculous. Like I said, I have them, but only because I chanced upon them. Had I not, I could still be living my productive life. It's very cool that they may get rereleased for everyone that really felt they missed out on them, but I do think there should be some action if Hasbro can show that Best Buy messed up or something.

Bought one each from the Best Buy near me on the first day (when DVDs came out). That store received 10 figures each.
Is this the first time we see store exclusives on HTS site? It is not a bad thing, just that I don't remember seeing Walmart, Target, or TRU exclusives on HTS before.

If this pans out, I'll be disappointed. Not because I don't want others to have a chance at this figure, but because what I bought was an EXCLUSIVE figure. It is misleading to race out and buy something (or pay a premium on eBay) that is supposed to be exclusive only to have it no longer an exclusive.
Hasbro Toy Shop did this with some of the "exclusive" Celebration IV Star Wars figures too.

I got my metallic finish Megatron and Ratchet from Hong Kong when my mom visited there. Man, they're freaking great compared to the originals.

I wanted the Megatron redeco, hopefuly that'll have a revival, but Ratchet cool as he is, just doesn't have enough drawing power for me.

So this is a slap in the face to consumers who thought they had an exclusive toy. My apologies guys, but now I'm hoping for Wlamart exclusive M.P. Starscream and oh by the way how about those damn Botcon exclusive Classics set.

As a current employee of best buy,I'll explain what happened with these guys.See corpotate best buy guesses which store is gonna sell more based on pure numbers.I work in massachuetts in a city where there are more people then houses.I know for a fact that my store had 20 total(10 each). In which I gladly bought two each.I still have access to the quanities on which stores have them and where they can be boughten.Or I have a set(both megs and ratchet) that I would part ways with if the price is right

Hopefully this will happen and Megatron will show up too. Both of these figures eluded me and I am not willing to pay the hiked up $$$ on Ebay to get them.
Oh yea hopefully they won;t sell out off of Hasbrotoyshop in a instant like the SDCC exclusives did.

I dunno dude. When you see them side by side, Metallic Ratchet is definately way nicer looking. If you have the movie Ratchet MISB, I definately recommend ebaying him and grabbing a metallic one for yourself.

Well as a person who owns both the 2007 Botcon boxed set and both Best Buy exclusives I will say this.
Would I care if the boxed set was put on hasbrotoyshop.com? I would not as long as production was not re-started and they went up at $335.00 (standard non-member price).
Actually, what is the difference? Everyone had the chance to buy the 2007 boxed set and they were a hell of a lot easier to get than the Best Buy exclusives, if you had the money that is.
I like to see exclusives put up on hasbrotoyshop.com, it gives people the chance to pick up some hard to find things as long as production is not re-started and they are up at the same price or more that everyone attending had to pay.
Best Buy had piss poor distrubtion on these and Wal-Mart has piss poor distrubtion on just about every exclusive. I have been lucky enough to find every single exclusive but it wasn't with out a lot of work and a lot of travel.

Amen to that. I originally planned on getting Megatron only, because I already had regular and Rescue Ratchet. But metallic Ratchet looks GREAT in person, and I forked over yet another $20 for yet another Ratchet. Oh well, so much for restraint.
As far as distribution went, I think if you didn't get there right when the stores opened, then you were pretty much out of luck. I went back an hour and a half later to grab another Megatron to use as trade fodder, and got the last one.

sorry for bringing up a somewhat old thread, but i had a question and i felt it'd be better if i just asked it in this thread.
i was wondering: why is toy ratchet green, when he looks more yellow? so when i saw this, i though that it might be more movie accurate.
so that is my question: is the BB ratchet more movie accurate?
i need a ratchet to complete my movie autobot setup in my dismal tf collection but i just wasn't feelin the puke green ratchet.
thanks!!!!

Metallic Ratchet looks much better in person than in photos. Complete your collection and get this figure!

well, that does it.
DEFINITELY will do!! (as soon as the coming soon shows in stock! hurry up, hasbro!!!)
i've thought about it a lot. i failed in picking up any classics when they were in the US. now i've got to get the new imports from BBTS (i'm dying for rodimus and bumblebee). thats the main reason why i didn't know if i should just save my money for best buy ratchet. i really need a job...
