So the plug is universal I take it? (i.e. doesn't depend on the retailer?)

Looks good, thanks.

This isn't the BBTS plug, it's the TFsource.com / HJL plug.

There was no glue at all. A little rubber strip provides minimal friction.

Taking the plug out reminded me of the DW G1 comic where Megatron breaks free of the human terrorists control.

Seriously though, I recommend TFsource.com

I'll vouch for them like BBTS now.

All of my 5 or 6 experiences with TF Source have been positive. They are reliable.

I'm not too sure. I asked them about the adhesive, & this is what they replied with:

The adhesive used was intended to make this a permanent modification. We have not tried to remove it so I don't actually know how strong the bond is but hopefully, it can not easily be removed. A warning has been added to our website and to every package leaving our warehouse stating that this is not a item for children.

So I really don't know. It could be something that would easily pop off with a bit of pressure....it could be something that fused the plug into place. Personally, though, I think I'm going to have to go with BBTS, unfortunately, because I currently have no way to pay for one other than money order, which BBTS seems to be the only place that offers that as an alternative to a credit card. I suppose I could try Ebay.....

See highlighted part above.....

Thanks for trying to help, though.

I am a pretty die hard BBTS customer (they are the ebst online retailer IMHO), so I always go to them for everything. But I have on a few occasions gone with TFsourse on some stuff. They are a good company. I might get my MP Megatron from TFsource.

TFsource is a great online store. They are my second choice, and I always compare prices between them and BBTS on most purchases.

One thing about TFsource. They make you pay pre-orders up front, where BBTS waits until the item is in stock and ready to ship before charging you. That to me is a huge bonus!! Both are high quality, safe, fast, trustworthy sellers. Oh and kind too!

I'm glad HLJ and TFSource went for the cheap alternative instead of glueing them in place like what BBTS is doing with its MP Megs and TFC 06 Megatrons

yeah if I wasn't getting mine from Japan directly I'd be going for TFSource. Not going to have someone ruin my collectable AND charge me more for it.

I know there are alot of BBTS faithful here but all I see are high prices and now this.

I'm going to opt for TFSource for the less common items and keep shelf hunting for normal release items.

Well whenever I get mine from bbts I will cut it off if it is hard to pull out

That didn't sound right

I'm pretty sure the plug was factory applied to all MP-05s intended for sale in North America, or at least the States. It wasn't done specially for BBTS, TFSource or HLJ. It was a mass produced modification to get the figure through U.S. customs. I'd be willing to bet money that when you guys receive yours from BigBadToyStore.com that you'll find out that it is indeed the same type of plug used for the other online retailers.

Maybe, but BBTS is specifically showing this:

Which is different in both size, color, and shape from the HJL and TFsource caps. They are also the only site to specifically say that their caps will be glued in with adheasive 1/2 inch into the barrel.

Alternatively, this is the HJL/TFsource cap:

Which is confirmed to not be glued in at all.

As odd as it sounds, I actually prefer to have the payment deducted from my account at the time of the pre-order rather than later when the product arrives. I always forget later and sometimes when a product comes in it may hit me on a week that I don't have the money in my account.

As soon as I see the money is gone from my account it will feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders

Or you can just get him off of eBay with no cap and the package not opened up.

The retailers need to be offering a discount for cutting open you package like that.

Only one piece of tape on mine had been cut, so it wasn't even really noticable.

There weren't any fingerprints on the figure or really any evidence of someone else having opened it first.

Mine from Lost and Found Toys arrived with the same orange plug from TFSource, etc. It, too, was simple to pull out and discard. However, the right upper arm guard on mine was detached from its ball joint.... :-x Easy to fix, but I may have almost loaded my pants when I saw that thing flopping around inside the plastic....

And does anyone else have a problem with Megatron's parts fitting together? Specifically, the upper arms and forearms on mine don't seem to like to match up exactly, even though he'll stay together fine in gun form. They're just a bit...separated. Kind of annoying, really, in such a massive, high-priced figure. :?

I know exactly what you're talking about. I had a feeling that there was a milimeter of tolerance somewhere, that I missed, which would fix the whole thing.

but couldn't find it.
