Does (Prime's) size matter?

I'm pretty sure that everyone has noticed that the Prime from every line is usually one of the largest figures of that said line. Would it look wrong if 1 or 2 TF's in the line were overall larger than Prime?

Lots of figures are usually larger than Prime, Megatron almost always is bigger than Prime. In Classics line Jetfire is bigger than Prime, in Energon Ironhide was bigger than Prime and in G1 lots of figures were bigger than Prime. So no, it wouldn't look wrong at all since being the leader has nothing to do with being physically the biggest/strongest.

Well, I think its something pretty common. While Prime is usually large, there have always been 1 or 2 figures larger than prime in at least the major recent lines.
In R.I.D./Car Robots there was of course Fortress/Brave Maximus.
In Armada, Prime was a smallish Voyager without his trailer or Jetfire. Which would make quite a few of the figures in that line larger than Prime. With trailer and/or Jetfire, only Uniucron was bigger than he was.
Energon, well you had Omega Supreme / Sentinel, and Tidal Wave. Skorponok was larger than prime if he wasn't combined with anybody.
Cybertron. He was pretty short in this one. Metroplex, Primus, Even Megatron was larger than Prime.
In Animated you get the choice of which size you want him. Deluxe, Voyager or Supreme.
Overall I think while prime is necessarily large. There will always be larger figures, and its fine.

The reason I'm asking is because I just received Classics Prime in the mail and I really like him. The thing is, I decided to purchase him instead of movie Leader Prime at the moment because it I got Leader, it would mean that I'd have to buy movie Leader Megatron to go along with him, and as much as I try to like movie Megs, I just can't, and I can't see spending the price of 2 Voyagers for a figure I can't stand to look at. With Classics, I can match him up with Classics, Animated, or even Cybertron Megs if I can find him. I've even thought of buying one of the Revlotec Megatrons. The problem arises when I set Prime up next to movie Ironhide and Ratchet. Ironhide is overall larger, but Ratchet is like the Golly Green Giant when next to him

I never wanted super huge Prime toys. To me Prime was meant to lead lead the Autobots, bot to be so tall and huge that he could only interact with them by peeling them off of his foot.
I like having some guys bigger than Prime, especially when they're giant in the tv show. Too Big is just bulky and annoying too.

I think the size thing was more important in the beginning of the franchise than it is now. In the cartoons Prime was always bigger than the rest of the autobots (save a select few) because he was supposed to be the most powerful of them. It's kinda like an Arnold movie where he is so much bigger and badass than everyone else. So at first I think that size did matter.
To me, Prime's size doesn't matter. I actually like the idea that there are a few bigger or stronger characters than him. It forces Prime to use his intelligence to overcome them. To me thats what makes you a badass. The ability to use what you have to bring victory.
