I have heard rumors of Encores turning up at retail...but normaly at inflated prices.

Considering the Encores are sold online through some retail stores (TRU, Walmart, etc.) it is possible someone bought it online and then returned it to their local store.

They probably had to fight like hell to get them to take it back, though. Especially with the Japanese packaging...

i keep meaning to get myself a SW, but other things keep popping up, im currently chasing down a headmasters Hosehead, ive wanted him for ages, theres a misb one on ebay atm, but after winning a brave max im a bit short for the £49 bid atm, i bet it goes for more like £70+, and the missus is gonna kill me if i dont stop buying lol

Too bad it wasn't like $30 or $40. That would have been a sure 'Get this!' moment.

Yeah, I found a Walmart MP Starscream in the Clearance rack at my local Wallyworld for $30.00 I was like....hmm.....and now he graces my desk at work and is waiting for his coronation package.

It is interesting, but like people have been suggesting - perhaps it is just an anomoly.
