-cool face & name
---------------------------
-I don't care for his missile

totally worth buying. by the way, what i always do when trying to decide on a toy purchase is look at the galleries on this site if one exists for the toy in question. it's always a big, big help.

I'd recommend getting the japanese version if possible, the colours are better, the force chip (cyber key) is actually painted, and a lot more details are painted in.

He's super. Apparently he's designed, face-wise, to resemble the Last Autobot (and, by extension, the Autobot symbol) from the Marvel comics.
My girlfriend says hye looks like a Las Vegas Elvis impersonator, though.

I would agree here. I have 3 versions of the Cybertron Vector Prime. Regular release, Starscream 2 pack (he is still imprisoned in the box only Starscream got freed) and the Galaxy Force vextor prime repaint. The figure is great, but the Galaxy Force version (actual release not Cybertron repaint) has much more detail to it. Plus isn't his solar power wings supose to be more solid instead of the flimsy stuff the Cybertron figure got? Anyways either version is really worth having.
Galaxy Force Vector Prime (Japanese version)

Not only that but the wings and sword are made of a much stronger plastic.

Vector Prime would be one of the few Tf's I would keep if I ever reduced the size of my collection.

My favorite is The Takara Galaxy Force Vector Prime.
Why?:
He is more show accurate
He has an golden force-chip
And i mean that hes aqua colored plastic pieces is a little harder than the U.S version ...

I would say no, this is not a very good figure in my opinion. Strangely enough, he was one I was most excited about before opening the package. I find him plain and just not too inspiring. Thought the gold repaint version would be enough to sway my opinion, but it wasn't, and then I had 3 of them.......the regular, the one that came with Starscream and the gold one. I think it was a cool concept, but it's execution leaves much to be desired. But, seeing as I like Classics Devastator and the uproar that ensued following his release, I'm just speakin' my mind, so, take it for the little it's worth.
By the by, I have a coupl'a Vector Primes I could do without if anyone were interested....

The only improvement I would make is better feet. He's got great articulation in the legs, but the feet could use an extra position to flip forward more.
Otherwise he's pretty cool for a tf without a realistic altmode.

I love Vector Prime! I got the gold one on clearance at wal-mart for $11.99!

Absolutely a steal!

Vector prime took a long while to grow on me but i'm glad i got him in the end.
My initial concerns were:
-I know he can travel through space and time and so needed a proper spaceship mode as opposed to just another cybertronian jet, but the aesthetic is a little too star wars. Interesting how there was lots of criticism of megatron being a batmobile, but not much of vp for lacking originality.
-Given how much criticism menasor and metroplex attracted for looking like robots curled up, I'm surprised vp didn't come in for a bit of the same. I's very obvious where his arms and legs are in alt mode. The design is a bit lazy - the whole front end of the ship does nothing except flip over the back of the robot.
Anyway, tf collecting is not always rational. i ended up getting both vp and galvatron and like them both. The good outweighs the bad.

I actually only bought mine to turn into Alpha Trion but when I actually started to play with it (yes, I sometimes play with my toys) he grew on me. I have the Galaxy Force one and it's great. Gold with gears and clockwork detailing make it feel like it inspired the Inca or Atlantis on some long forgotten visit to Earth. I'm a aspiring writer so ideas and characters like this are my bread & butter, just brimming with potential. If only I watched Cybertron so I knew a little about him.

I suppose with the best thing to do with any cybertron figure is to kind of make up your own story, or go by the bios printed on the package. Watching the show offers no explanations whatsoever concerning the characters, which is a shame when you look at character's like Vector Prime and especially the cybertron soundwave which I shall praise to no end.

vector prime is all kinds of awesome. i have both american release versions, and I digg the "ancient warrior" look, with the "shoulder armor and cape."

I had similar thoughts when I held him in front of me for the first time, and I've only got the white one. I think he's great. His transform is a little ABC, but it resembles the transfrom of the Last Autobot.
That's a point: is Hasbro's Galaxy Force repaint an homage to the Last Autobot?

Yeah, his mini-con looks like an idol...especially on the gold variant.

correct me if I'm wrong, but
isn't Vector Prime = Voyager Class?
so he wuld be along the same lines as:
Quickmix
Soundwave
Nemesis Breaker
so in your opinion is VP the best out of those guys?
And imo yes he is.

Galaxy Force Vector Prime (Japanese version)
Cybertron Vector Prime
Galaxy Force Vector Prime (Cybertron Repaint)
I did the same thing with the Starscream and VP Two-Pack. I also bought the Japanese Version because it looked a lot nicer than the US version. I can't understand why Hasbro made Vector Prime different from the Japanese one. Guess they were too busy with their precious Surpreme Starscream.

Yeah I'm glad with my VP. The whole thing that got me despite not caring much for his alt. mode was that he looked like a badass royal knight mech. His wings even sort of make a vague cape in robot mode.
Of course I don't find out until after the fact that only the Japanese version has the right colors.
The sound fx don't hurt either.
