Movie Armorhide = Classics Road Ranger?

I was just thinking the original Cybertron Armorhide is often considered a Pipes homage. Last years BotCon add-on Huffer, oviously supposed to a Classic. Is the movie repaint of this mold supposed to pay homage to the e-hobby Gobot repaint of the G1 Huffer mold? :-?

I doubt it, the only thing in common is the black colour of the truck hull. No red windows or orange inner body. If anything, Movie Armorhide could be considered the cab of the Sector Seven Mobile Command Unit

I say why not. Minor paint changes can occur from ehobby to Classics. He's a black Autobot truck cab. It works for me.

Of course it's possible, but it's not always necessary for all these non-G1 characters to be homages to very obscure classic toys. Movie Big Daddy was deliberately named after the Micromaster. Energon Downshift was too close to Wheeljack for it to be accidental. And Cybertron Overhaul might possible be a Trailbreaker homage. In this case it was almost certainly not intended. Besides, if this were a modern Classics update of Road Ranger, that would make this a homage to a Minibot repaint which was a homage to a Gobot. yeah :SMUG:

Well, we already have BugBite. Road Ranger would be a nice opponent for him.
