Japan Battle Mode MA-21 & MA-22 NOT identical to Premiums?

We had all assumed that the Japanese 'Battle Mode' MA-21 Leader Prime and MA-22 Deluxe Bumblebee would be the same as their US Premium equivalents.

Not necessarily, according to this:

Goddammit! Another variant for the completist! Will it never end?!

If the Bumblebee is different too I'll be ending up with EIGHT versions of the 08 Camaro Mould - original, battle-damage, screen battle, Clifjumper, Stealth, Allspark, Premium and now Battle Mode!

And that's in addition to FIVE leader Primes: original, UK Nightwatch, US Nightwatch, Premium and Battle Mode!

I'll be happy when this line ends!

Are you saying you’ll be happy when people in Japan and the UK don’t get the different figures? Because really that’s all I see this Prime as is an international variant like Henkei Prime and on.

Oh well, just another reason to pass the domestic version. =;

Is UK nightwatch prime any different than US nightwatch prime, other than packaging?

"Are you saying you’ll be happy when people in Japan and the UK don’t get the different figures?"

No, quite the opposite! I wish all the variants were easy to get hold of in the UK! For example, Tsutaya gold Legend Bumblebee was a bitch to find over here for a good price!

"Is UK nightwatch prime any different than US nightwatch prime, other than packaging?"

Yep. The UK/Japan edition was released in July 07, well before the 'Allspark Power' waves came out in the US. As such, there's none of the electric blue colour typical of the later Allspark figures. In the UK, it was exclusive to the retail chain Argos. In the pic below, notice especially how the blue on the upper thighs and shoulders has been replaced with a dark metallic bronze colour.

It's just another way for Takara to make fun of our Hasbro and our weak attention to the smallest touches and realism.

DAMN YOU TAKARA!

I should have waited for the Takara version.

The Takara Battlemode Bumblebee does look pretty sweet.

You've seen pics? I can't find any anywhere! Could you post a link, please? Thanks!

The chrome on his feet look cool, maybe if he had more throughout I could see getting him. But it does suck that Takara sometimes slams Hasbro with how great their figures look.

That Arcee a couple months back still looks so much better than our version.
