I've been looking long and hard at Universe Prowl and Sunstreaker. While both look good in stock photos, Hasbro products are notorious for falling just short of the mark. Takara Tomy however have never let my expectations down as far as paint applications and quality are concerned.

Now, if some of you will recall the first time Hasbro cut the idea of Alternators Sunstreaker because of the quality of yellow plastic in the figure. Because of the yellow plastic, any pipping that is under a thin layer of the yellow will show through. Now I know we didn't have this problem with Classics Bumblebee, but it was heavily painted.

Universe Sunstreaker, as great as the mould is, seems to have little if any paint aps. I find that tends to cut the feel of the figure.

(A great example of this is Galaxy Force and Cybertron Vector Prime)

Prowl I believe will have more painted parts, but will still lack detailing.

So here is my question. If you could wait and afford Henkei Prowl and Sunstreaker, would you buy them over Universe assuming that the Henkei figures are indeed of a higher collectors quality?

I'm sure the question has many things wrong with it, but I do enjoy a good discussion of the sort. So what do you all think?

I’m still undecided on Sunstreaker, but I’ll probably just get Universe Prowl. Mainly because I can get one for half price down the street or pay more than double for a figure that would be of slight better quality.

Again, I’ll have to see how SS looks, but the US Prowl will do for me.

didnt people say the Henkei versions suck? i seen a youtube video review of prime with miss matching collar parts

No I would not wait, simply because I am not that patient. If I see that later on they have better color apps., then I would buy them, and sell the Universe versions.

I'm gonna get the hasbro versions because I don't really want to pay more money and shipping for a figure that has only a few differences than the one I am gonna get at Target.

I will get the Universe figures because they are less of a constraint on the wallet. The deluxe in my area will be $9.99 no more no less....I love this state.
