Now that the Alternators line is in question again...

Sure they are just redecos in the Binaltech release, but it further supports stirs and hopes of it all being started up again. It did make me fantasize what new molds I would love to see if they do, in fact, make some. What about you guys? What would you want to see? I've been trying to keep in mind what companies would go for it, and gosh I would just love to see a Alternators Blurr as a Bugatti Veyron. As well as, thinking outside the box, Warpath as a Dodge Charger Daytona. It's also a bit of a hopeful stretch, but Kup would seem fitting as a grey Cadillac Escelade.

So there you go, my three hopefuls, two with a bit of realistic possibilities are:

1. Blurr - (blue) Bugatti Veyron
2. Warpath - (orange) Dodge Charger Daytona RT
3. Kup - (grey/silver) Cadillac Escelade

What are your 3?

Alternators are coming back? Really?

Hmm, I just want a black RX8 to match my own!

You can forget your Bugatti. Its owned by VW and they want nowt to do with war machines apparently, 'tis why we don't have Bumblebee.

Binaltech is back but I am not sure about Alternators....

My top 4
Trailbreaker--black SUV
Bumblebee---almost made it but there were problems about having an engine weapon
Ironhide or Ratchet

Its not really though is it? They are just using old designs, it won't be properly back until they give us something new.

I hope they focus on characters already known for having car, truck alternate modes since G1. I´d like to see the whole original autobot cars/minibot cars released as BTs/Alts or guys like Streetwise, First Aid... or even mroe obscure characters. They even released Overdrive (Wincharger)... an Omnibot...

Interesting fact is that Lamborghini, didn´t make it to BT/Alt line yet, but They´re officially licensed as alternate modes for those RoadBots from HappyWell (They have 3 Murcielagos in the line)... so why can´t a company the size of Hasbro or Takara get such a license?

Anyway... I´d like to see Tracks re-released as the new Vette ZR-1... thats one beautiful car.

It's very easy to suggest Autobots for the line but we need some more original Decepticon molds. My shelves are distinctly Autobot heavy and they're getting bored cos they haven't got a challenge.

If they make new molds then Takara/Tomy should really do all they can to work out something with VW & Porsche so we get the New Beetle Bumblebee and Porsche Boxster Jazz that they wanted to make originally. If one of the sticking points was the inclusion of weapons they should drop them from those releases and then seperately release a generic Binaltech weapon pack with suitable guns for those characters.
Another idea to expand the Binaltech line would be to license vehicles that aren't sports cars or 4x4's eg a crane for Grapple,a fire truck for Inferno,an ambulance for Ratchet which could possibly be retooled for Ironhide & 6 fully licensed construction vehicles for you know who :)

Porsche said absolutely no when they were approached by Takara and Hasbro to make a Jazz as a Porsche 911. This is due to that Porsche does not want to show their bad side, being associated with war. So that is probably out of the question.

Like a black Prime with a camper top.....not interested in Alts any more, but I'd buy a Trailbreaker.

One thing puzzles me about VW & Porsche and that's why they've not objected to the various reissues of the G1 BB & Jazz?

^ They're not licensed products and only loosely resemble their respective vehicles, so they have no legal grounds to object. That's also why Hasbro can get away with making Cybertron Crosswise a Bugatti Veyron, and Universe Prowl a Nissan 350Z/Fairlady.

Alts, on the other hand, are licensed scale models in vehicle mode which are made to resemble the real thing as closely as possible.

I think they should do Alternator versions of the movie characters.

Lambo is owned by VW that's why. But I just wanna see something as an Aston Martin DBS, a camaro, and a 350Z or a Skyline GTR

Well... even though I know its just re-paints (that we know of), I hope they re-issue old ones... I really, REALLY want a Laserwave (Shockwave) without paying through the nose.
I could see the Mirage mold being a Blurr... except that since Blurr's blue, it wouldn't look that much different, eh?
Skids mold should be made into Ironhide or Ratchet, or both.

I think it's great that the Binaltech line is being continued. Hopefully Hasbro will get smart and decide to continue the Alternators line. I'm sure the licensing they received from GMC for the movie could be translated into an Alternators Solstice, Camaro, Hummer and of course a GMC Topkick.

I'm already looking forward to my silver Binaltech Meister to put my new custom Wildrider head on it.

It is not going to happen what has replaced the alternators line is the movie line and have to say that is a pretty crappy replacement. So I wish people would stop speculating or making list of dream figures since half the car companies are owned by a german car group and this includes some american car companies.

I do apologize for making this thread, and continue my apology by resurrecting it.

Thinking of new molds is pointless, repetitive, and I feel hypocritical in making this thread because a vein pops in my head every time I read someone saying "Jazz should have been a Porsche, there should have been a VW Bumblebee, wtf is Shocklblast doing here..."

While I stand by my feeling that if a new mold was ever produced, Warpath as an orange Dodge Charger would have been sickkkkk, I have to say that I really hope Takara continues the redecoes and remolds with a Dragstrip as a Ford GTX1. How appropriate would that be?! The prototype for it was yellow, it's a convertable, Mirage was disguised as him in Masquerade (thus making it suuuuch an apropriate remold from alternators mirage), AND it's another decepticon for the line.

I'm sorry for doing all this, but I really feel the need, wouldn't that be SICK?!

If they were to really bring back Alternators/Binaltech, I'd like to see that VW Beetle Bumblebee and that M1 Abrams Megatron. Other than that, I don't really care. Alternators don't really interest me that much anymore. I'd rather have more Classics than Alternators.

Keep wishing about the Alt/BT VW Bumblebee because the chance of it happening is slim to none. It has to deal with VW's history and they do not want to associate their vehicles with war. The same goes with the Porsche....keep wishing. Same song, 2nd verse...they too do not want to associate their vehicles with war.

As for the Megatron one, I am not sure on what the status was on that one.
