i,ve got a whole bunch of assorted transformers but most dont realy fit into sets eg: mp starscream ww thundercracker and classics skywarp
my aim is to get a whole line of alternator/voyger/mp/leader scale figures with classic delux bumblebee and mirage be ing the smaller bots. but none of the transformers (in any line) seems to be in scale with each other- is so frustrating that all the tripplechangers ane so small comared to any thing else (how can i have a spaceshuttle/train bot be smaller than a car robot)
also dose anyone else set em up crushing little army guys?
or make sceanery -interacting with different toy lines?

Army men and KOs great victims!
As for how you set them up, some just have them lined up, to me thats borring, these are collectables, but they are also toys, have spme fun with them
However shelf space is a factor in that too...
As for me though, click the link in my sig, thats my best response

Funny you should ask! Ha ha ha...

Very soon now, after 4 years on seibertron.com, I will be showing pics of my collection for the first time.
Let's just say I actually had to build my display cases from scratch because no amount of bookcases would satisfy me.
The custom made display cases are finally built, stained, lit up, and ready for my figures. Now I just need to get all the figures out and up on the shelves. I think for my first month or so I will display all my G1s with a few extras thrown in. Just give me a few more days...

LoR, I look forward to owning a house so I can do that, till them, I keep professing the awesomeness of track shelving. I can't wait to see your pics though
And to Chronic, Thanks

If you wanna talk about it though, post there, no point in having a good topic get off track.

Mine are stored in 15 drawers in a closet...they get rotated in and out. The ones that are out are on my desk or shelf or two. I usually have 4-5 TF displayed in my home office.

im going to make an ark and decepticon base ive got a few little plastic houses and have made a cardboard replica of my house plus an imaginary garage aslo i want to know what scale there main/favorite scale of transformer toys is eg are they set up with mp prime or delux prime leading them dose scale even matter to most people?

For favored scale I'd have to realy say basic through Voyager. Leaders just seem to be to big in comparison except oddly for the Primes with a smaller mode.
But most Leaders normaly get a Voyager version too so...

As for Cascadia, when your figs are in storage, do you consider them in stasis?
Mybe I'm just nuts, but to me boxed bots are I consider to be in stasis, and others that are boxed in my second room that has realy no display value and are waiting to be set up, well they're on a away mission.
Does anyone else think like this?

My 'bots are strewn about the apartment in an ongoing Autobot battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons. They are underfoot worse than a baby or cat/ankle-biter dog. My wife yells at me when she finds one inside the medicine cabinet in the bathroom and it startles her. I just tell her it's a sniper waiting for a fly-by and she rolls her eyes at me. The only 'bot that graces my desk at work is MP Starscream, and I am worried the other fellow nerds are going to steal him one day.

I do not have room to store all of my boxes....I live in an apartment. I have shown my setup in other threads. 4 of my Alt/BT can fit in one drawer.

Due to spacial constraints, I have had to chose from 4-6 total of my collection to display, but that is soon to change! I FINALLY scored my much-coveted G1-colored MP Starscream with coronation set, and he will be part of the crowning glory of my collection and MUST be displayed! I have a HUUUGE shelf in my bedroom currently collecting dust, so I will move it into my living room for displaying my TFs....On the top shelf, I will put all the MPs (Megatron, G1-colored Starscream and "MP Thundercracker" a.k.a. Takara MP Starscream) and the rest of my G1s and Revoltechs on the second shelf. When I start getting my Classics collection underway, they will take over that second shelf and relegate the G1s to a shelf JUST barely out of reach of my marauding TF-eating cat (we have had past issues, my cat and I, with my TFs...Methinks we have come to an understanding, since they have been destruction-free for over 2 months now)!
My collection is small right now, but things are growing at alarming rates once again.....DAMN YOU PLASTIC CRACK!!!!! *shakes fist at sky*

At the moment I have them like this:
Glass fronted case: G1, Deceps in tope half, Autos in bottom half.
Separate shelf stack:
Bottom shelf (left side): Beast Wars
Bottom shelf (right side): Classics. Some just lined up, some in poses.
2nd shelf: Alt/Binaltech/Masterpiece. Some in vehicle mode, some posed.
3rd shelf: Movie. This is the battle shelf so they're all in a tableau.
4th shelf: RiD Megs, Prime, UM and Energon Unicron.
Originally I was going to have them all in battles but it just looked messy so the battle shelf will feature a different line whenever I feel like changing it.
I've just paid for my 100th figure but they're not all here yet. I have 92 on display and 6 more boxed. When I put out my 100th figure I'll post pics.

Shelves furthest away from my desk: Movie leader Megs and my SWTF, all in vehicle mode, movie Strongarm and Swindle in vehicle mode, movie voyager SS and Ironhide in robot mode
Shelf across the top of my desk: Alternators. These vary between vehicle and robot, because both modes look awesome and they're great to fiddle with. I even like transforming Wheeljack now I've had him a while

Shelf / desk next to me: some movie deluxe / scouts and a couple of classics in vehicle mode in little cubby hole things, other classics in robot mode in little in-trays looking tough and action-filmy, Ult. BB in car mode, because that looks fantastic
Main display plinth: My favourite movie figures, most in robot mode. 20th Anni. Prime and G1 MP SS in robot mode take centre stage on that shelf

As small a collection as it is, I still wish I had a digital camera to actually take some pictures of it

I have all the similar characters grouped together, all the Primes in one area, all the Starscreams in another, etc. Any figure that doesn't have any homages or simply ones I don't like as much get stored away in a cupboard display I only really open when I feel the urge to transform something. Currently most of my movie figs are in there.
One of these days I'll post pics, one of these days.

I've only had shelves up for a few weeks and things are currently grouped according to series but later I may have things grouped differently.
eg:
different versions of a character together (all the Primes etc cos I've got about seven of them!)
similar alt modes together (planes or scorpions) but triple changers cause a problem there...

Mine are grouped by line on my shelves. If I have too many to fit on one shelf I'll separate them by faction.

Omg that was too funny!

I hear you completely!
As far as my collection goes. I set my TF's in two ways. From just standing there too full battle scenes. The ones just standing there is like building a 3D puzzle lining them up small to big. With the big figures in the back, but they are at least possed shooting at something. The battle scene consist of my MP's and Alternator/Binlatechs. I had alot of fun with displaying my Energon collection! Thats when my collection was small. Now? OMG it's gone way too far..... I have to rotate them every time I pick up a couple more figures. I imagine I'll be hitting the 400 marker in the fall.

I have 4 white plastic shelving units, 5 shelves high, and a similar one 4 shelves high. I have them all in robot mode, grouped by character and series- that is, wherever I have multiple versions of a given character, they're all together, otherwise, the individual series are together. I'm terribly close to outgrowing my space, tho. Once we buy a house in Sept. I hope to have a basement or other room to myself to set up all my toys (TFs, GI Joe, Gundam, military, etc.).

I think that's the transformers dream - a room devoted to TF's, where they can all be displayed at the same time.
I'd like a TV, DVD player and comfy armchair as well to watch cartoons in such a room. Sadly I think most of us need to wait for children who haven't been born yet to leave home before such a dream can be realised.....

I use a combination of bookshelves and fishtanks..... And I for the most part with the exception of the combiners, i usually seperate them by series........
Here's what it looks like.

The nice thing about the fishtanks is that they keep the dust out.

Hah, fishtanks? That's awesome! I kind of wish I had some display cabinets myself, I'm noticing a LOT of dust on my collection.
