ok so what is your biggest mistake
in transformer collecting?
for me possibly
when I bought
Energon Inferno, Cruel Lock,
& Megatron all around the same time.
those figures imo suck big time.
basically I gave away all 3 figures to a local kid.

Just bought one of those transformable pens for $25. Does that count yet?

I do regret buying a lot of the toys in the Energon line. Cutting out all the tech specs from the G1 line is a BIG one, though I was just a kid. I have all these boxed toys with rectangular empty spaces on the back. OHHHH!!! It came to me. Not being able to convince my Mom to buy me Fortress Maximus! Did I ever throw a tantrum. I remember it so well. I got $50 in Geoffrey cash at Toy's R Us for my Bday from my muuuuch older brother. Maxi was $90. Mom wouldn't fork over the other $40. After the smackdown I ended up getting Marios' Cement Factory and a couple Technobots.

Most of my regrets are of passing up figures when I was younger that I really want now or have since paid large amounts of money for. Other than that I regret spending money on crap like Armada and Energon when I could have put it to something I really wanted.

My regrets are not keeping someof 'em. I never really had the cash to get the better / bigger ones, though. IIRC all I ever had from G1 were Smokescreen, Ramjet, Silverbolt, two of the Aerialbots, some GoBots, some Convertors, and a few small knockoffs (including the old 2 1/2" - 3" knockoffs of the vehicles that became Whirl and Roadbuster, from the Convertor line). But it's 2:45 am, my memory may be spotty.

Taking TransFormers out of boxes knowing that they are gonna collect dust and be fiddled with whenever I am bored and knowing that if they stay in the box, they would be worth something. First time I bought double TransFormers is with Primus that includes the Unicron head. One to play and one to sell 20 years from now.

Mine so far is buying a lot of Cybertron and 3" Titanium stuff that I really had no interest in but bought because there wasn't much else at the time

I regret not splurging on a R.I.D Cryotek I saw on eBay for like $40...

Cheapest I ever found him. Now like one seller has five or six 'Teks and he's selling them for insanely high prices.... $200 bucks for a Kmart Repaint? Any others that are being sold run in the 90 dollar range... I want the figure, but I don't want to get fleeced like that.

Oh, how Windy needs a decent job.

I regret not getting the Rid stuff. True, it was at least a year or two before I decided to start collecting, but it was everywhere, even at EB games and Gamestop(I remember they had Galvatron, Prime, good stuff). At least my bro got me all the Combaticons on clearance though.
I also regret not buying more stuff out of a big box of Transformers(Beast Wars/Machines, a few G1's and Rid) at the Flea Market. The guy was there nearly every week, so I bought three or four of the box each week, and then one week, the box was gone, I guess someone bought the whole thing. I did get three Predacons and Snaptrap though, and Sky-Byte, as well as some awsome Beast Wars guys I never would have bought otherwise, so it wasn't all bad.

I regret not spluring £12 on that RiD ruination set. I went to get him a few days later and he'd gone...never saw him since

Probably my biggest regret collection wise was letting my younger sister get near my G1 Mirage 20 years ago!! I think that you can guess what happened!
Other regret, not ordering an Alternator Mirage when it came out. I still can't find one, and I LOVE the Ford GT!!!

Somehow I managed to pick up a complete set of RiD toys including every exclusive. I have them all MISB/MOSC in my closet of doom.

When I was a kid, one of my first Transformers was a G1 Prime I got from a tag sale. He was missing his hands, gun and roller, so when G2 came out, I wanted the new Prime with all the special features. Lo and behold, Christmas came I and got G2 Prime... then I sold my G1 Prime. D'oh! Man, do I regret that.
But since Takara is gonna reissue G1 Convoy again, I'll finally be able to afford to get G1 Prime back, and with all his assessories.
I also regret picking up the Universe Ultra Magnus and Treadshot 2 pack. Probably the two crappiest Transformers I own. Y'know, there was a reason those guys were in Big Lots.

for those of you that feel like you wasted your time
with energon & armada series,
don't feel too bad man,
I think there were some REAL gems in there.
for example I think Tidal Wave is freaking
awesome! better than Cybertron Metroplex anyday!

Leaving my G1 transformers in storage with my parents with the accessories/small pieces seperately boxed. My father threw away the box of accessories thinking it was junk so now, among others, I have a bare Trypticon and a bunch of headless weaponless headmasters (including Skorponok).

my biggest regret was not purchasing any beast wars figures when they were out. The line had ended, they were cheap and i said..."there not cars, i dont want them..." i was so dumb in my youth.

Not picking up RiD Cryotek when I found him on clearance at Target. The whole line was on clearance, and I made a killing, but I decided to wait on him, picking up Megatron and some Car Brothers repaints instead.
Dumb.

Are these the Headmaster/Targetmaster figures or something completely different? I'm drawing a blank.

I still very much enjoy my Armada and Energon collections.
As far as my biggest mistake, I regret not paying much attention to my boxed-up G1 collection. Eventually it found its way to a children's toy drive, courtesy of my mother, and I've had to spend alot of $$$ replacing most of it. Thanks ma.
