First look at new TakTomy BinalTechs

Shizuoka Hobby Show in Japan has given us a look at the latest Binaltech offerings announced a few months ago. On display for the first time were BT-19 Bluesteak, BT-20 Agent Mesiter, BT-21 Arcee, and BT-22 Convoy.

Possibly a hint at the next release, a sign with a silhouette of a car is displayed behind the figures and reads 'Next Transformer'. Could this finally mean a release of the Honda Civic mold for Japan? or possibly a chance for US audiences to get their hands on Frenzy?

Stay tuned for more details when they arise.

I think I'll be canceling my pre-order for Prime now that we're certain he isn't green.

These really are not doing much for me, especiallty Arcee. More than anything this smacks of giving people another chance at these molds.

I would be interested in a Frenzy to go with my Rumble, but I bet it's red like the Alt. release.

I think I'm going to have to cancel Arcee as well...

I mean, without a new head ^this^ isn't even remotely close to what she should look like.

Are these die-cast? If they are I might keep the preorders.. if they are plastic I'm going to pass..

They're plastic.

Also, man, I actually wanted a Lime Green Convoy...

I don't see any images...

<edit>... doesn't show up in news column... I see them in now in their native area.. d'oh.

anyway, canceling arcee and prime... for the same reasons as everyone else has posted.... More more to burn on classics, instead

I'm more interested in the "top right" mockup silhouette of the next binaltech..

They're plastic.

That's contrary to everything I've heard about them.

They're supposedly diecast.

Really, cause I heard they weren't diecast.

I thought the main difference between the Binals and they Alternators was the die-cast thing.

I have no doubt that prime will be plastic. The only differences I see between the new and old Prime is that the new one has Chrome wheels and a chrome grill and the inside of the bed is all red. In robot mode the only difference I see is that his crotch is silver or chrome along with acouple of touch ups on his legs and feet which may be chrome of silver. I haven't decided if that's enough to buy him yet. Of course if he was diecast, I would buy 2

they have been confirmed to be die-cast. The only one that I am getting right now is that Bluestreak only because it is a exact replica of my car.

I'm sure Jazz, Arcee and Bluestreak are diecast but can someone post where it was confirmed that Optimus is diecast. I really need to see it with my own eyes. Thanks!!!

Beyond the approximate shipping weight according to BBTS (2.38 pounds/1.079 kg), I have not seen anything. But the other three are definitely die-cast.

The silhouetted car, are they sure it's a Civic?

Kiss Players = Plastic
Binaltechs = Die-Cast

BT-19, BT-20, BT-21 & BT-22 are Takara's continued release of Binaltech line, so they are supposed to be in die-cast.

Now that BT-22 Convoy's color is confirmed and that's the color I have been hoping for, so I upped my pre-order with BBTS to 2 now (one MISB one loose). I just did a quick fitting test on current Alt Convoy with the standard BT box, don't think it will do. So maybe Takara will adopt the BT-17's fishbowl packaging style again, and I wonder how the packaging art will be like. :-?

Anyway I love BTs, and I just can't get enough of them, gimme gimme gimme more!

Cheers,
Coolpop

Unlike everyone else, I think these are great and if I can scrounge up $150 I’ll be buying three of them.

Oh and just so everyone knows, they are die-cast, that’s the whole point of this Prime.

I'm a big fan of Alts/BTs but the big problem they always had was TOO MANY REPAINTS!!!!!!!

On a positive note, I do hope these do well and allow them to finally come out with new body styles.

If the prime is more red than orange I *may* be interested in him.

I'm not really thrilled about the new releases for this line. The Neon Prime would have been fun to actually see but the only one I wanted was Ravage and the stores around here stopped carrying the line ages ago.

No Paradon Medic eh? No suprise. For "new" BT's they ain't much to look at. Whats the real difference with Prime?

Right now I am confused as to what I want to do with my pre-orders.

I think I'll name the pink one Femmeputer, cause it sure ain't Arcee.

I'd say cancel them and save your money for City Commander Magnus' upgrade and the eHobby Sentinel which are sure NOT to disappoint.
