Has anyone ever but a substandard transformer from BBTS. i know the figure will be mint but to what extent is the box substandard. i'm lookin into some henkei classics but they're all substandard (mostly) and i just wanted to know how bad the boxes are. thanks!

Did they put the grade on it? Like c6 or something like that? That tells you what condition the box will be in.

substandard means that you don't have to work as hard to open the box.

I'm guessing it varies... I sold them a MISB alternator and the box had a dent in it, but nothing real major...it would still blend in fine with a MISB collection...and it was listed as substandard.

I would guess if you bought it that the box would be dented, have a bit of a crushed corner, or show signs of shelf wear, but probably wouldn't be mangled or anything. But that's just a guess...I'm willing to bet you could send them an email and get specifics on its condition if you're worried about it.

The box was fine. They know that a lot of people are Mint In Box fanatics, so they let you know upfront whether the boxes could be dinged or not. It seems only my Henkei Starscream was kinda messed up, but nothing else.

Boxes might have minor wear, but the item itself is mint. They are perfect for opening, like I do. My Henkeitrain is coming soon, so I will let you know.

Someone wanted an orange energy axe...

I've gotten a few substandard items from BBTS and they have been in pretty good shape. Mainly just shelf wear from the looks of them. I wouldn't worry about it much unless you really want a pristine box. Also, they have great customer service, so if you aren't satisfied, I bet they'd let you return it.

I got a DCD Knightfall Catwoman from them in substandard condition, and I honestly can't figure out why it was listed as substandard. Seems mint to me.
