Negative comments on MP Megatron

Im considering getting this guy, but Im not 100% sold on him just yet. What im looking for are the negative aspects of this figure, like quality, ruggedness, not being able to stand up, flimsy joints, etc. So those of you with him post your insights.

:-?

He's betterthan Starscream.
My only real complaints are:
1: he struggles to get his arms to point anyway other than outwards.
2: unless you misstransform it, his gunbarrel gets in the way of his arm cannon.
3: the only way to make his feet suport him no matter what the pose is to reduse their positions (you pull a peice of plastic up that 'traps' them onto the legs, thus stoping him fall over).

Also his hip joints are rather stiff which makes poing a little difficult.

I'd very much recomend you get him. Only not from BBTS

I broke a small clip on the legs of mine. The part that fits the hip "shield" into the upper part of the gun. Tried to transform him back to robot mode and I couldn't get it apart! I was trying so hard no to break this and snap....

I have to admit one thing I don't like 100% is MP Megatron's face. It looks a bit too Japanese, sort of like the reissue Galvatron. I don't mean that in a bad way. It is just slightly different than how I feel G1 cartoon Megs looks. MP-Megs has sort of a pissed off Samurai expression. Everytime I look at him I can't help but imagine hearing it say "Desweptakon, twansfwarm"

I just got mine today from Hong Kong. It came sealed and unaltered. The only reason I mention this is to eliminate the posibilty of any previous hands doing damage.

I would also like to state the obvious here and proclaim that this figure is a must have for any G1 TF fan and that it is an absolute work of art. The transformation is tough but not impossible.

Now for my complaints...

First, the shoulder and hip pieces come off very easily and pretty much will be removed whenever posing or transforming it.
My final complaint is the fusion cannon is too heavy for the arm and it cannot be posed without some serious rigging. It seems as if the left shoulder joint is stronger than the right which would be great if the cannon was on his left side.

Lol, I think his expression says "I have to go to the bathroom." :))

Serously, my megs might not be here yet, but first impressions says it's a good figure, I guess you just need to be carefull with it.

Mine doesn't seem to want to snap together completely. I could be doing it wrong. Looks pricey, feels cheap, doesn't want to stand up, can't keep his arm up to point the cannon. I am definitely very disappointed versus my $40 DVD Optimus Prime.

First off, I absolutely love mine. I say get it.

Now you wanted the bad parts. As everyone else has said it can be a finicky figure. At first mine was super tight, I popped his head off of the ball joint the first time I tried to transform him. It gets easier over time. It does seem though that after many transformations he may become too loose to easily pose.

Despite that stuff, he's still freakin' awesome.

I have the same problem with my Dinobot 2, too lose to stand. (in fact, I'm surprised Seibertron can pose him.) But I suppose that if Megs become too lose, you can always position him agianst the wall, that's what I do with my Dinobot 2.

Same here. He's a pain in the ass to Transform. The face looks a lot better in person than in pictures, imo.

Get one while you can. I have a feeling that this will be the new KISS Hot Rodimus.

I admit the first time transforming him was a pain. But I can say the same for the other MPs and Alts.

Kiss Hot Rod is worth getting?

He is if you can find one for under 100 bucks.

Which, as luck would have it... :)

BAD PS! pushing your auctions on people (dont you know ur supposed to hold that one for me till i get paid  )

round and round we go, back on subject...If i had to come up with something i dislike about this figure its that however i pose him it appears as if his "knees" are pointed inward.

There will be another one listed this weekend with a 5 dollar opening bid. ;)

I hadn't noticed the knee thing on Megatron. Then again, I have my figs posed in such a way as to obscure the legs as much as posible. I suppose the skinny legs are a downside to the figure, but it really doesn't bother me a whole lot.

It has nothing to do with being picky, and everything to do with this being a $100 figure...

Not really a complaint but the pieces of plastic connecting his legs to this body seem pretty weak and I'm concerned about them snapping. There's some difficultly posing him because of his right side heaviness. And you have to remove parts to transform him correctly. He's really difficult to transform at the beginning but once you figure out all the little tricks it's pretty straight forward. I think he is a must get for a Transformers fan especially a G1 fan because it's unlikely we will ever get a more accurate G1 Megatron and unlikely to get a realistic gun Transformer any time soon.

Megatron was always going to be flimsy when compared to Prime. Lets not forget that Prime is basically a box which unfolds. Megatron had to be very complicated to avoid being just a large version of the G1 figure.

His face isnt quite right and his ankles could be stronger but otherwise he is greatness. Shoulder pads popping off doesnt bother me, rather that than snap off.

Hhhhhmmmm.....

The shoulder and legs pads coming of/having to be removed is not that big of a problem for me. What worries me is his ankle joints wearing out pretty quickly and thus not being able to stand up. Does he come with a stand ala MP Starscream?

Nope, no stand. But should his ankles lose their rigidity, you can always apply some clear varnish. To be honest, its not likely that they will wear out. How often do you repose your TFs? More likely that you will find a good pose and leave it for a while.

I dont re-pose them that offten. I usually do as you mentioned. But I would rather have some sturdier ankle joints just the same.

The shoulders you have to pull down are really tough, so tough they feel like they may break, and being attached at only one point they may do in time. I don't like having to use excessive force on stuff I paid over £70 for.
