VEHICLE MODE

The pictures speak for themselves... almost. It looks good, but it could have been a little tighter. Blame the numerous moving parts. Classics Prime has a tighter feel. The Cullen gimmick is pretty cool : you open the door and he disappears (flips back). Otherwise, it's a very nice truck. Probably my favorite Prime design.

TRANSFORMATION

A bit in the style of Ironhide as it has a pretty challenging transformation. I don't really know how I got from point A to point B but I made it. Can't really explain what happens in between, but the leg transformation is very cool with a lot of shifting and folding and twisting. I wonder what the designer was smoking that day! All the automorphing is in the legs. Some panels move inside while others move outside. The arms unfold from the under the cab, head too. I like how they hide the torso (upside-down behind the real cab).

ROBOT MODE

This is where the toy shines. Very poseable, imposing, guns can be shoulder-mounted or hand-held, firing missiles, very good poseability, quite stable, hard to ask for more! Cullen stays visible in this mode.

Overall, it's a good toy that could have had a tighter fit in truck mode. Otherwise, it has to be the coolest Prime in a long time.

PS : Had the backpack mistransformed when I took the pics, but I figured it out later.

I would get this if it wasn't for the backpack. It looks so big from all the photos.

He looks pretty, good. The hands are on ball joints, lots of mobility will make for interesting poses. But don't like the fact that you have to attach the guns to the inside of his forearms for him to wield them, but, hey, at least he doesn't have a 3 fingered claw for a hand. right?

I still think he looks pretty good. I like the wider wind shield/chest pieces better than the smaller square ones in the final version we saw.

All in all a pretty solid figure.

It's just a bit sad than Voyager Prime ends up being bigger and more complex that Voyager Megatron. Voyager Megatron is like the Vector Prime of the Movie series : big barely transforming figure.

Thanks for the review, I think this is one of the few movie figures I want to own, even though I say that now and will probably end up with a bunch.

He looks great, but he's just too small so it looks like I'll be picking up the Leader version, which sucks because now he won't be in scale with Starscream, Bonecrusher and Blackout!

I just can't win

And thanks for sharing the pics!
