This is about the real vehicles the Transformers are designed after. Post a pic of the real car and who it's supposed to be. You can post a similar pic of the TF to compare if you'd like.

I'll start.

Hmm, this could be interesting. I don't know anything about cars though, but there's always the VSD.

No it's not. It's a Peugot Rally Car.

Cybertron Smokescreen is a Veyron.

Well, if we can see pics of the vehicles you think BB is modeled after we can beeter decide which is correct. I initially thought the Mini as well, but it is more closely modeled after the 207. Actually, I think it is modeled after a previous model year. This one looks a little different.

I thought the new Bumblebee was a cross between a couple of vehicles, at least that's what I remember hearing.

BB looks more like the 206 now that I research it:
Image
Image

there are some obvious changes, like the front air dam and the roof vent, which I'm sure were to avoid copyright infringement.

That's the one I was talking about.

i thought cybertron downshift was a dodge or plymouth of some sort

I don't know why, but CL BB makes me think of a Citreon. Possibly a Xsara. But the 206 looks like a good match. Think I'll dub him that.

I know I was teasing someone about the coloring as the green is a classic MOPAR color, with MOPAR being a Chrystler/Dodge/Plymouth muscle. As I look more and more at Downshift, I can see the resemblence to some later model years of the Barracuda:

Image
Image

But then I think the front end has some Ford Grand Torino to it (think Starsky and Hutch, but not with Ben Stiller...not with Ben stiller.... :BANG_HEAD: )

Image

As for the Classics Bumblee debate, I see what you guys are saying about the Peugeot 207, but the front end screams Subaru Impreza WRX:

Image

But, that's just my opinion...

I think the front looks like a Honda HSC.

Except the HSC doesn't have the Air intakes on the hood. and the front of Hot shot is rounder than the HSC.

Also the Air intakes on the side of the car Match the Me Four Tweleve more than the HSC.

But that is a new WRX. The front end didn't look like that when BB was released. Plus the headlights don't match. They are dead on for the 206. I'm not really trying to put up a fight, even though it seems that way. Sorry.

Here's the answer: C-Downshift is two cars in one: look up '70's Chevrolet Monte Carlo (front end) and Dodge Challenger (back end)

I was looking for an older pic of the WRX (I did one in another thread but cannot find it quickly.) This was the closest I could find in short notice. For me it's the headlights combined with the two radiator intake openings on the front that make Bumbles look more Subaruish to me than 206ish.

And it's not a fight yet, so don't apologize. I never criticize someone else for having a differing opinion. Besides, I love to debate and don't mind trying to defend my position. I'll try to find a better pic to establish my point.

[edit] Okay, here's another pic closer to what I was thinking of. Again, the headlights aren't perfect, but the front grill looks much closer

Image

[edit2] I just can't let it go, can I. I found an older pic that seems to do better with the headlights, and fits better as far as the grill too. Plus, it's a hatchback...

Image

And actually, Overcracker, I think Red Alert was supposed to be more Dodge Magnum like.

Image

edited for a better pic that fits on the screen better, sorry...

I agree with this.

I can't see the (edit 1) pick of your Subaru. Maybe they based it on both of them. Really, BB wasn't the focus of this post. It was just an example.

What about some of the weirder molds like Cybertron Soundwave.

Actually, can anyone show me a pic of the actual Walkman from the 70's that G1 Soundwave is modeled after? I found a website a while back that had all of the Sony Walkmen on it and there was nothing that looked like SW.

Most people think that OP is a mack truck...well, he's actually a 1970's Kenworth COE.

Or maybe he's a freightliner from the same era:
