FYI,
Good news is I have seen pics for the new KO G1 Mirage reissue similar to the Swoop. The bad news is the retail price which is around 150.00.
I also mentioned that Devastator is on its way and I have seen a picture of the six heads reproduced.
Expect it to hit the market in late May or early June.

A Knock Off (Or KO for short) is a product made by another company other than the one who originally manufactured it. And I'm not surprised at Mirage's price, since his original mold is broken, he should sell fast. Maybe I'll get one, I'm still in need of a G1 Mirage................

I don't care if the original mold is broken or not, I'm not paying $150 for a slaggin' knock off! Heck, I could find a half decent loose *real* Mirage cheaper than that (yes, I have seen plenty)! As far as Devestator/the Constructicons go, this was a very dumb choice. I mean, how many Devestator and lone Constructicon knock offs do we need? I see at least one or two a month at Big Lots and various other places. Doesn't take much to buy one and paint it green and purple, if it's not already. It's hard to believe that this one will be any better when it comes to quality.
Sorry to rant here, but this just bugs me.

I don't know about that, but people have paid $70 to $100 for the KO of Dinobot: Swoop on eBay. I paid $60 for the KO of Predacons: Predaking. I think it's a wait and see on the quality of the KO's...

O_O; $150 for a freaking KO!? As for Devestator...gezz, that proble the 6th KO I herd of. Tomy Takara should step in and stop these KO and release both of em them self. Now that would worth the money.

I agree $150 for a knock off is insane.
I know the origional mold is broken. I also have Mirage and from what I can see, it looks good.
So my question, how about an "official" authentic, reconstruction?
No improvements('cept on the clip for the shoulder rocket), just take a old one and redo it.
That would be cool!

i feel sorry for those people who blow over 20 dollars on fake immitations made of low quality plastic and no metal parts.

Why can't they make a new mold? Is it too expensive for Takara Tomy to make a new mold? We bought enough Reissue and Repaint toys from Takara Tomy that they can send their kids to College...

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing tonight! Half the work should be done for them already.

They either used the wrong currency symbol or forgot a decimal.

I have a KO Devastator. But $150 for a KO Mirage. Completely ridiculous.

If you're dumb enough to spend that kind of money on a rip-off, you'll get what you deserve.

I didn't even think anyone BOUGHT knock offs. I always thought these threads about knock-offs on ebay were just to warn us they were knock offs and avoid them.
Anywho, I had no idea the Mirage mold was broken. When did this happen?

I didn't much like Classics Mirage when I first saw it, but now that I've bought it, I'm glad I did.

Swoop was more of a miss than a hit, but I've still yet to hear anything that significantly bad about the cassette KO reissues. It's not like these are the same thing as the nasty dollar-store nonsense that's all over the place.
And as for your other point, that's good and all, but then you get people who try to pass off knockoff parts or accessories as if they're the originals.

Keep in mind a few things...
The Mirage will be presented in G1 packaging and will be priced around 100.00 or cheaper as no one will sell it at MSRP.
The devastator will be sold as the giftset and carded from my understanding. The quality will be much closer to the original then the ones sold for 10-15.00.
I sold a graded Mirage for 800.00 and a set of the MOSC Constructicons for 550.00 so unless you have that kind of bankroll, these are the closest you'll get to having the originals in sealed packaging.
