Hey, does anyone know anything about the Cybertron re-release of the Omega Prime Giftset that is currently sold out over at actionhq? Is it coming out in stores? I haven't even seen it anywhere else online. Thanks!

Other than it seems to be Not Available. Nothing much.

I can tell you though the figures are outstanding. And I would not mind owning another set.

However $119.95 is a little steep. $60.00 or even $80.00 i'd be all over it, but 120 no way.

Welcome to SEIBERTRON.com! Please leave you sanity at the front desk and just have fun. :)

Anyhow, that Omega Prime giftset was released over a year ago (October 2005), as a Costco exclusive. That explains why it's sold out. From what I've read, it's not really worth getting it, as:

- the figures are largely unchanged
- the plastic quality is questionable according to some reports

So how many releases of these guys have there been?

Seems they've been releasing a set in different lines.

Thanks so much! I suppoes I'll just buy the original set somewhere online then. Hopefully get that big-ass sword. I've already got the yellow Sam's club optimus, and though I'm kind of *meh* about how easily he falls apart, I need to combine him with some Ultra Mags!

The price is about on par with the cost of the RiD versions on ebay. Usually you have to buy Prime and Magnus seperately unless you get lucky and find a lot. Sometimes you'll run across a set cheaper.

I haven't seen the Cybertron re-release version before, but I can say the RiD versions are worth getting. When I got mine I was surprised how large the figures were. Prior to receiving mine, I had never seen them in scale with other figures.

Yes the figures are quite large.

I like Prime's armored Mode. And their Combined Form Omega Prime.

The Original RID release is the one i own, and they are quite sturdy.

Prime does have an issue with the heaviness of his ladder in Armored mode, but in most poses he can cope with it.

I do have to say though, they are more display pieces than children's toys. Specially their combined form, while it looks cool combined, it is very heavy, and flops easily.

But they are still the center piece of my collection.

EDIT: there are a couple for 9.99 on Ebay here
and here

These guys are cool figures and would have been neat with the Key deal, but I never found them anywhere.

and according to to luckydrawtransformers.com there were ~10 black GoD magnus produced. There only source of verification on this however is a picture from a magazine and a cellphone img.

And action-HQ prices are terrible. If you buy a product from them early enough than you get a decent price( i preordered my mp megs from them and paid the same i would have from bbts) However, if the product becomes somewhat rare then prices skyrocket...i.e. $45 classics grimlock which i have seen in every store i've been to lately but a couple months ago it couldnt be found.

EDIT: I see they've marked down there price on grimlock to only 24, but have raised there price of bumblebee and screamer to 35...

You may want to try your luck on ebay.com.au

There are still some of the two packs available in Australia, and there are always people who buy them instore and throw them up for inflated prices, but since its in $AU even inflated prices should be somewhat decent.
Just for a heads up, the pack was AU$170, just so you know how inflated the prices are.

Shipping would be painful though.

The re-issue versions plastic quality sucks! Better find the RID versions. Quality is way better, but still not on par with the japanese version though.

One thing to look out for, the rubber tires of Fire Convoy breaks!

The rubber tires on my RID Prime and Magnus are fine. No cracking no drying, no breaking. They are a little loose on the rims though.
