Due to an almost instant nation-wide sell-out, TakaraTomy is going to produce another run of MP-05 Masterpiece Megatron. Scheduled for a July release, those who missed out on this figure will have another chance to snag him at retail.
Action HQ already has a pre-order available for this figure.

Yay! I might stand a chance of getting one now!

Though if I do miss out I suppose I can go to BBTS and get the plugg'd version. From what I've been reading the plug comes out easy anyhow so either way...

Kinda. It's in there secure & requires some trickery to get out, otherwise it won't budge. What I did was take a blowdryer to the end of the gun barrel on the low/hot setting for a few minutes to heat the glue up, thus loosening it, & then use pliers to yank it out. Not too much to it, but you need to be careful so you don't scar up the end of the barrel....or hurt yourself, for that matter. I broke a nail getting that sucker off, & I don't really even have nails, it almost started bleeding.
Anywho, the sellout does make me glad I have mine now. Now I don't have to wait untill July.

With many toys in Japan, the toy companies only produce one run of a figure then move on to working on the next figure. This has been true of the KISS Play figures and the Masterpiece figures. I have not been in Japan long enough to comment on other lines like reissues.

I ordered mine off a guy on ebay in Febuary who guaranteed it would be unmodified or money back. This was when that bruhaha was happening. I estimate he sold about 40 on ebay. Says it will be 2 weeks before it's shipped slow-ass UPS ground from California. They don't physically have them yet in states and this news of them being sold out in Japan worries me that they may not be able to locate a stock of them...maybe till July. Sigh.

My MP Meg from BBTS came with the plug and it was real easy to remove, just a little scarey at first because i was afraid I might damage the figure but it came out very nicely.

I got two on their way. If things go smooth with Robotkingdom's unmodified version arriving, I will report that it is safe to buy from them if they still got them in stock.

I got mine from BBTS too. I didn't heat up the glue or anything. What I did was unscrew the two screws holding it to his back. A little piece comes off, then the barrel itself just slides off the figure. Now youve got plenty of leverage, and don't have to worry about scratching the barrel or messing Megs himsefl up. Then you grab the plug with some needle nose, and it comes right out. then screw the barrel back on. Real easy comes right out.

I think SAL takes between 6-8 weeks from Japan to the US.

Lol, sold out very fast even though of the small rants. I can't wait to get mine, it's underway from Hong Kong, I also bought MP-01 from that same ebay seller so it's going to be my first 2 Masterpieces! Can't wait, he looks so good (Remy's Galleries). Can't wait for Skywarp and a normal coloured Starscream.
