First Look at Botcon Dirge?

Hey,
I've been visiting this site a lot but haven't noticed anything on the first images of the Botcon exclusive, Dirge. I just stopped by their website last night and there he is. The wings are not remolded. What gives? The color's seems to be off too. I've attached my Classics Dirge that I repainted from Ramjet and gave G1-Dirge wings. I don't think mine is better. But for aournd $300 I was hoping for remolds on the wings. This probably means that thrust won't have his signature wings either.

it is discussed at length (multiple pages) further down yes tho i am quite impressed with your repaint of the figure looking at this and at the official version im starting to think i should try it myself repainting the remaing set of seekers.
Can i ask what paints and primers you used and how easy the figure is to disasemble?

Nice job of removing the wing thrusters. That's one area I'm probably going to keep Ramjet like in my kitbash. I like being able to rotate the wings back a bit.
All in all, nicely done!!

Superior to the Botcon version, in my opinion.
It's a shame it is not available for purchase.

I didn't use any primers. this is my third repaint/kitbash and I'm still trying to learn. The color I used for it is at my studio. I'll get the name tomorrow and post it for ya.
The figure comes apart pretty easily but you gotta watch you don't strip the screw heads on the inside of his legs. Those were the toughest part. The smaller wings under his arms in robot mode just pull right out. The wings I attached to my guy are glued and yeah they don't move. That's why I'm so torn between the botcon dudes and the ones we can make. I'm posting my Thrust which I like more. I mixed his colors with 2 parts testors 1152 Metalic Red and 1 part 1140 brown. his chest and hips are mat black. his wings don't move either.

Man, that Thrust looks pretty sweet!! I don't suppose you'd be willing to do a few different angles for us, would you? I'd love to see what you did with the wing thrusters and the tail fins.
Many thanks in advance if you get the chance!!

primer? I didn't. I'm still learning but the paint I used was a testers enamel 1110 blue.
hope that helps.

first off, thanks and I could use a drink after today.
second, I'm thinking of starting a thread in the kitbash area. here's the deal. I'm obsessed with the classics line. Hasbro can't make them fast enough. so my idea is that the lot of us help each other out by posting two images (robot and alternate modes) with a brief explanation of what color, adjustments, etc were used and done. so that the whole thread could be just images of could-be classics. we can help each other out with ideas for building our classics. I'll get something started in the next couple of days. I freakin love this site. at 31, I have nobody to talk to about this.
cheers!

your customs there really do look great. Personally i think they dont look complete without the missles. Can we expect a sunstorm repaint anytime in the near future?

Thanks,
about the missles, yeah, you might be right. I think I spend all my efforts on the figure and get burned out when it comes to something as simple as the missles. maybe I'll get a case of beer and have a missle night.
sunstorm? he's looking at me right now. waiting. tapping his foot. checking his watch.
I took his missles away.
