I actually don't like it. The head is not great, and those colours just don't work for me on that jet.
You shouldn't mix something like a 100% G1 colour scheme on a 100% Bay-former design. It just doesn't work.

Guys, guys, think. Starscream appears in the movie, and is subjected to the movie makers. Thundercracker isn't, so he is subject to Hasbro's re-painting whims.
The chances of a fan kitbash are slim. I think the chances are better that Hasbro is making money off of re-paints.

Disagree. Starscream is colored the way he is in order to look like he does in the movie. Thundercracker doesn't have those restrictions. Hence, blue.
And really, after all the Starscreams that have been pumped out non-stop since Armada? I'm glad Movie Starscream has different colors. I can even live with the head. Starscream's been done to death, and I never liked him that much to begin with. So all the "more thjan just a name" people can lick me. If it's such a big deal, why am I not seeing these sigs for Ratchet, Bonecrusher, etc.?
Ahem...
Now that that's off my chest...
It looks like Movie TC is a nice, darkish blue, which I'm glad to see... Still not sure how I feel about the head. Looks kinda orc-like, which to me says "dumb grunt", which I guess works if this is a movie-verse version of Cybertron Thundercracker. The real thing that makes it feel odd to me, though, is it looks kinda like halfway between normal and movie-style, in a way that it doesn't really fit in much with anything. Still, a new head sculpt at all is worth applauding, and I'll probably pick this up.

Again, because STARSCREAM'S BEEN DONE TO DEATH. He always looks the same. Nobody's whining about Bumblebee or Ironhide... So why is Starscream such a big deal?

If it's a non-movie character I'd bet HASBRO did the new head as an homage to fans.

They may have paid homage to it, but they've still lost me as a consumer! Toy sucks IMO!

I truly hope this is a real movie figure, cause the color scheme vastly improves the figure, as does the head mould.
I was never a fan of the light beige color scheme Starscream had going on. I think Black and purple would look good also. (as in skywarp) so he ain't sleek) they are alien machines, who said they had to be sleek?

Im with you, i have no reason Hasbro wouldnt make a repaint (even a good one) if they felt they could make a few more bucks

I agree. There was something posted awhile back about the movie designs being so different because Hasbro was keeping all the G1-ish deisgns close to the vest...that they wanted the bots in the movies to look different enough from 'normal' TF's so Paramount couldn't come back one day and ask for shared profit on anything down the road like the Heroes or Titaniums lines. And Hasbro was very adamant in keeping the rights to the old desgins, so they would be able to use them down the road.
I think this Thundercracker is legit, and Hasbro is throwing a (small) bone to the fans. Looks a ton better, in my opinion.

I think the new head looks a bit ropey in that photo- I'm sure it's fine on the toy, but it ain't exactly photogenic.
Nemesis Primal, I'm with you on the 'Yay! Starscream *doesn't* look like the Sunbow animation model' bit, although I stop short of inviting those who disagree to lick me. They can just lick you twice if they're that bothered.

Well, er, not to be argumentative, but something I noticed here..

..which would be fine & dandy except for...

Not caring for such a huge break from traditional aesthetics for a character you never liked much to begin with kind of excludes one from getting it, no?
Also, *lick*

Repainting this mold hasn't tricked me into liking it yet. The blue with red and silver stripes seems out of place. I think I'll probably avoid Starscream and Thundercracker, if this is a legit repaint.
