REVISED!!! Which Version will be the perfect Movie Prime Toy?

Ok, Ok, we all know that the images leaked of Optimus Prime way back sent most of us into a tizzy over the blasted Hotwheels flame designs, and the monkey face they originally went with, until they revamped it slightly. So over the past couple months some of us have expressed sentiments like, "he has grown on me" and "I like the new Prime design, barring the flames." Never the less love him or hate him the new version of Optimus Prime is here. I for one as a fan do admit that the new design has grown on me, so much so that I am now very excited to see merchandise coming out.....

Now that said....

"REVISION" I have decided that the earlier posts on this subject were at best skewed in comparisons so, with th erecent additions of the Leader Class Optimus Prime to the Gallery section, I am reasking the question, and if some of want to revise your opinion, please feel free to voice it.. i for one am now pretty impressed with leader class Optimus Prime..

See for your self, you be the judge:

So which Optimus Prime Figure is the "Perfect" Movie Prime Toy?

Will it be:

Leader class Optimus Prime:

Prototype Voyager class:

Prototype/Voyager Side by Side:

Robo Vision Voyager Prime:

I think Robo looks closely like this:

Ok, Ok, I'll ask it one more time.....

Will the Real Optimus Prime Please Stand Up?

I dont know if it's the photoshop but in the pic I definitely go for the Robo Prime. Damn he's bad in both first and the last pic. Now he'll be in my head for the rest of the day and thanks to you.

It's ironic that at first so many hated the movie design, while now some are up in arms because the leader toy doesn't match that design. I like the leader class figure ten times better than the voyager which, following the movie version, makes prime look like a lanky adolescent, the robotic equivalent of a puppy at the 'all legs no chest' stage. Leader prime looks grown up and ready for, well, leadership.

Oh and I think the Voyager Class is the accurate one now. The Leader Class Version is fat and doesn't look as accurate as I thought when I first saw it.

My pick is Voyager class because it's not as "blocky' as leader class. Voyager's legs are more accurate; leader class's tires and fenders are too large. Unfortunately weapons on both versions seem a little inaccurate. I know Voyager has half a semi hanging on his back but the robot mode does look very similar to the concept.

dabattousai nailed this one. All the other Prime's look bad. Maybe it's the coloring, or the kibble (nice grill behind the prototypes head there.) I'd have to chose Robo-Vison if somebody put Masterpiece Megatron to my head.

I for one am glad you didn't add Protoform Prime to that list. None of them look how the movie depicts them but as with a lot of other toys throughout history, they never will.

The voyager one looks the best, the leader class looks like a block with arms and legs.

Well, I'm getting both and the FAB. And Robo-Vision. And the Voice Changer Helmet. And maybe the truck-gun thing. And the probably Burger King toy. Because its what I do. I collect Primes. So I'm going to decide which one goes on the top shelf and which one goes on the 6" shelf and which ones get buried in the general Convoy shelves with LioConvoy and Energon Prime and Machine Wars Prime. What I'm saying is buy what you like in person because the pictures are really no help. The real toy is never as cool as what they show you. In a nut shell, you see it before you buy it. And if you think its crap, don't buy it.

Dabattousai is spot-on. lol

I will get the Voyager-class one, but the silver colored plastic on his arms/legs/hands/etc looks cheaper than it should.

I will still get him anyway.

I too collect Primes...only the ones I like. lol

I too think that the best Optimus Prime rendition so far has got to be the target exclusive Robovision.. he just looks great, my only complaint is the paint on the shoulders is wrong in color it should be blue with flames and not plain red, and the detail blue paint on the metalllic color on his shoulders is also missing..other then that he's the best version I have see to date..

Just wanted to make note that the "Final Version" and "Robo-Vision" versions of Voyager Prime are the same figure. Paint and all. The final version of the regular toy is still the deep blue one with the lacking flames.

So yeah Robo-Vision Prime is the best of the three versions.

I'm not liking the movie bayformers much at all, since they;re all way too alien and sinewy to be robots. they look like ugly and though they;'d snap if they lifted a ton

Whatever, as long as Prime doesn't need to be french kissed by a 12 year old Japanese girl, Im cool with it.

I'd like to see an underground TF movie though, with G1 style bots to compare Bay's work to the original.

Thats just my opinion.

What's 'Robo-vision'?

Is that the same toy as the voyager class one?

Yeah. The regular multiple store release is the dark blue shaded one. Robo-Vision is the lighter blue one with the metallic paint on everything, and is a Target exclusive. So much like the Spiderman 3 toys, you have to buy the Limited Edition figures to get the movie accurate colors....Insanely retarded I know.
