Leader Class Version. AFAIK There was no repaint for the Voyager class version of that mold.
It was only ever released as Megatron in the Megatron + Optimus Prime 2 pack for Toys R' Us.
Until it was used for the Botcon Exclusive Heroic Megatron.

there were two on seibertrons galleries and im pretty sure one was bigger than the other, but they may have just been US an Jap cant remember if there were comparisons? but i cant check now
how big was the big one in robot more
and very importantly how much is a reasonable price - i see one for £50 ($90) + shipping and it seems a bit much but i havent seen it anywhere else, but then again i havent been looking for very long

That price seems a little over the top to me, although E Galvatron was never available in the UK, and is (from what I've seen) clearly the nicer looking of the two versions.
Personally though, I would refuse to pay anymore than current leader price for him, and that would be including postage.

Lets try this again.
There was no repaint of the Voyager class of that mold for a Western Release until it was used for the Botcon Exclusive.
The slight paint differences on the Toys R' Us exclusive are noted.
Takara released only Voyager Classed versions of the figures.
Since the pic you provided is of the American Version it should in fact be the Leader Class version.
The smaller version in Seib's galleries was most probably the Superlink (Japanese) Version. Which was the Voyager classed version.
As far as Price, I think $90 is way too steep. no more than $50 is what I would pay for it.

One way to be sure is to look at the ends where the wing hinges. It they're translucent, they're the leader class version.

Yep it's the leader class. Stood up straight (he looks better with his legs splayed a little) he's about the same height to his cannons as Armada Megatron to the top of the tracks on his shoulders or about a head and a half shorter than Tidal wave.
Am I right in thinking that you want this guy as a decent match up to City Commander? If so this size will probably be the better choice rather than Galvatron General from Superlink, but he'll look pretty oversized when compared to most Classics figures (he'll completely dwarf the Classics Seekers for example). Essentially the leader class should be a good scale to City Commander while the voyager works well with the majority of Classics (check out Counterpunch's collection thread to see the smaller Galvatron General pictured among a bunch of Classics figures). I prefer the voyager version due to the joints on the leader class not holding the weight so well.
The other main difference between the two releases other than the size is the colour. The US release is quite a deep purple while the Takara version is more lilac, similar to the Takara G1 Galvatron reissue from a couple of years ago. Galvatron General was a fairly small production run and sold out VERY fast at the time of release and demands a pretty hefty mark up on the secondary market, while the leader class shouldn't go for as much. The price on this one seems over the top and if you can hang fire you should see some more realisticly priced ones show up within a couple of months. The price would be OK for the smaller Japanese release but just seems too much for this version.
