Does anyone remember this commercial?

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/3163/

About a quarter of the way into the begining thet show Optimus charging toward the left and then a Decepticon is seen coming down from the sky. This Decepticon looks just like Megatron, yet has a round, black head instead of the one we are used to and he looks like he is holding his cannon like a gun. Is that supposed to be Megatron?

Anyways, I also wanted to share the site with everyone. I'm sure many of you may even be familiar with it. I have been going there for a while and thought about how everyone might want to see a bunch old old commercials for Transformers or just about anything, including Go-Bots.

That was Megatron, but was based on a prototype of the Megatron design we all know.

The boxart for the 1984 original toys had that Megatron painted in the battle scene. I always wondered why Megatron wasn't in there, but when you look around, you find that robot with the arm cannon and you just knew that was suppose to be Megatron.

That Megatron flub actually hung around for years in the Marvel comics. I always just thought they were trying to give him "hair" for some reason...

The funny thing is that not even 2 seconds prior to that Megatron coming down from the sky, the Megatron we all recognize is seen charging toward the screen with other Decepticons right behind him.

It looks like Megatron removed his "helmet".

I always hated that early model, and I wish the comics hadn't used it. I don't like Megatron's helmet being a different colour to the rest, for some reason. (I know, it's a petty gripe.)

I've seen that commercial several times and it always bothered me. It always looked like a KO managed to sneak on the show or maybe it was some kind of nameless Decepticlone.
