Is Encore dead?

Does Takara usually just let things drift off or do they announce the end of a line? The lack of any future announcements concerns me. After the Blaster figure from the previous G1 reissues was there an announcement or did everyone just figure it out when no more figures came out?

No one knows yet.

They just released some high priced figures over the past 6 months, Sky Lynx, Metroplex, Omega Supreme, Omega Sentinel.

They may just be letting the market absorb it a bit.

I'm with CP. They're waiting for more if the big stuff to sell before they make anymore announcements.

Word on the street is that Trypticon and Fort Max are the next figures and Takara's trying to make a deal with Bandai for Jetfire.

What BS is that? This is the street, and there is no word on that here.

I have my resources... I know people in the injection molding business and apparently Takara has had the Trypticon mold sent off for cleaning. It was still foggy though on whether or not Fort Max's mold is getting prepped.

Jetfire is a rumor on some Bandai model related boards. Nothing confirmed, but still highly possible.

I really do hope Encore isn't dead. It's a fantastic way to get those figures you missed out on years ago for decent prices without running the risk of picking up knock-offs.

I was having the same question on this thread about Encore thinking that maybe I missed announcement news. It seems I didn't miss any news.

I was thinking maybe they would do Trypticon since they did Metroplex. But Fort Max? I'm getting out of space for so many big figures :( . If they do Trypticon I'll definitely buy it, but Fort Max I'm not very sure. Jetfire I would also definitely buy. But I'm hoping for other figures: Wheeljack, Shockwave, Thrust, Ramjet, Devastator, Reflector, and others...

Anyway, I really hope we'll still see many more Encore releases. It's also good that they take some time because if they release everything too close there's no money to buy the figures... This way is more soft for the wallet.

I wouldn't mind a fresh Trypticon. Mine has bite marks on it (don't ask) and is missing some pieces.

Fort Max would be appreciated, I figure I'm at least five years down the Corporate Ladder from being able to afford a vintage one.

Though I'd rather see Thrust, Shockwave, Scorponok, and more cassettes for purely selfish reasons.

Except for Ironhide and Ratchet, the Encore series has done pretty well so far. Megatron was released twice under this particular series. Jazz, Optimus Prime, Soundwave, Minibots, and Metroplex sold out pretty fast. I could see them continuing this series for at least another year.

As others have mentioned - Takara may be giving the Encore series some breathing time since the Henkei series and Masterpiece series have several releases lined up for Oct., Nov. and Dec.

No one ever seems to mention Scorponok :( That's one I've been wishing for since I was a kid, even more than Fort Max.

Scorponok is a pretty cooly one to do.

Personally, I'd take a Scorpinok or Tryticon over Fortress Maximus any day of the week.

but what I really want from Encore is Target & Headmasters.

Oh, and a Thrust/Ramjet pack :P

Whether they make another Encore or not, we should all take a step or 2 back and ponder how truly lucky we are right now, with an unprecedented amount of fresh (and cool!) product available.

To think, 10 years ago I was buying Beast Wars toys I didn't really like just because I had grown up, and finally had the money to spend on a fig or 2 (I hadn't discovered Ebay yet)

I hope it's not dead either.

On my Omega Sentinel, there were eHobby markings. i thought that too was dead, but apparently not. It seems to be blended into the encore line.

I still need a Ft Max and would LOVE to have a Grand Max. Also, if they make a Scorponok, then let's hope for a Black Zarak and pray that there is no GPS.

I read somewhere in the forums that Takara has all the G1 leader molds in usable condition so we could very well see Black Zarak. They did Star Convoy so why not Black Zarak?

I get the feeling thought that they'll do Trypticon sooner. As I said earlier my resources have said that Trypticons mold is currently getting cleaned. I'm still not sure how valid that info is, but we'll most likely know after Christmas. It's possible that Takara does'nt want to announce any new Encore's until after Christmas seeing how saturated the market is in TF goodness.
