Seibertron.com's resident kitbasher Jin Saotome has cooked up another beauty for our viewing (and purchasing) pleasure.

Using the Universe 2.0 Powerglide mold, he's created a COBRA Rattler vehicle. Complete with gattling gun and removable missles, this bad boy is sure to impress.



Here's what the man himself describes this beauty as:

"Crashing through the night comes a fearful cry, Decepticons, Decepticons!" That’s right, just like in the comics we get a team up of Transformers and GI Joe here with this custom! Powerglide has been transformed into the most iconic Cobra aircraft, the Cobra Rattler. He’s decked out in a highly detailed paint job that includes realistic shading, panel wear, flight weathering, metallics, and is sealed to prevent wear. He even sports the Cobra Airforce decals as well as Decepticon emblems. His missiles are removable and he has a rotating center turret that activates his lights and machine gun sounds.

This figure is available for auction here, but if you want in on it, better hurry, there's less than 24 hours remaining at the time of posting.

I wonder, Jin, did you show that on hisstank.com last week? There was a very similar if not the exact same custom done. Regardless, it is awesome, and a great idea. If only it were retail.

seriously, if they made this avaiable in retail across the globe, I would totally buy it. a gi joe and transformers crossover is like a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich, the 2 go together perfectly, and considering all of the military theme vehicle mode available from the transformers side, this is one opportunity hasbro can not pass up. Mr. Saotome, thank you for your creation, it truly has blessed my eyes.

The more subdued colors do a lot to play down the playskool proportions of the figure, too. Especially the vehicle mode.

Or maybe it's the hyper-realistic paint job compensates for the unrealistic proportions.

Either way, major improvement.

You have to admit though - this head is really evocative of a Cobra Viper.

That looks awesome. I'd love to see a pic of that next to a 25th anniversary Rattler.

I dig the plane mode color and deco. Looks very real to me.

If Hasbro had released this guy instead of Powerglide than I would have bought the figure.

I just watched this thing go up $100 in the last 20 seconds.

It's amazing what a few drops of paint can do to the price.

I pictured Ultra Powerglide being a cobra rattler since they both are the same kind of plane.

Jin is a pro. This guy knows how to create a good kitbash illusion that is real enough to turn heads. That Powerglide looks like it came straight from a toy manufacturer.
