Well folks, throw on your hard had and lets take a trip to the Rumor Mill.

Sparkplug of SGCollect has some information that should be shared with everyone.

Confirmed: MP-08 Grimlock 13000 Yen

ETA: March 2009


The other rumor is that the next in the Alternity line is Destron Leader Megatron featuring Nissan Fairlady Z. This figure, like Convoy, comes in two colors. Silver and Blue.

No date or price range is given and I'm sure more that one fan wants the Nissan Fairlady Z mold, if true, to be Prowl, Streak and Smokescreen.

So what do you, the fan think? Is this true, or like the title says, just a rumor? Could MP-08 really cost 13,000 Yen ( That's almost $200.00! )

200 dollars sounds about right

and the silver megatron would look perfect next to the alternator/binaltech decepticons

I'd like to point out that we had initial images of both Starscream and Megatron long before their release date. We should have had something by now or very soon which might confirm part of this.

$200 for Grimlock? Hmmm...It's going to depend on the size of the MP figure. If it is to T. Rex scale, then yes $200 sounds right. And freaking HUGE!!!! What is 1:24 scale on a dinosaur that can be 40 feet long nose to tail? Good grief...that' over 20 inches long nose to tail and 6 inches tall at the hip. That is one ENORMOUS Transformer....HELLSYEAH!!

Xe.com says 13000 yen is not 200$, but 130$! Use converters!

I editted it. I suspect DownShift converted Yen to Australian Dollars. You are correct about it being around $130 US Dollars.

Hopefully he'll be a strong piece like Optimus and not a flimsy one like Megatron.

I was waiting all this time for a MP Grimlock, but if it'll really cost that kind of dough I won't be able to get him. **** I hope I find a job soon.

if that is true about MP Grimlock being confirmed, both me and my fiance are very excited MP's are awesomesauce (cept Megatron!) and him Grimlock badass...

Masterpiece Grimlock, sweet. I am happy either way, if he is taller than Prime he'll look great with my other Masterpiece figures, if he is the same size as Starscream he'll look awesome with City Commander and my Classics, win-win.

almost makes me wish i hadn't cancelled my preorders for the convoy alternity.

But i have to wonder which Generation of the Fairlady are we gonna see as megs. I honestly don't see any of the incarnations as megs but the red skyline for convoy surprised me.

As for Grimlock...wouldn't it be interesting if they threw a huge curve-ball and it was TWW grimlock

Sounds like the Alternity series is tied up in some sort of contract with Nissan.

So, finally, there really is an MP Grimlock. This will be interesting. May possibly be my second MP toy. Let's see if this mold will be good enough to convince me to go back to MP line.

I just pray that MP Grimlock isn't just a scale-up of G1 Grimlock or the Universe POS, and is an entirely new sculpt based loosely on the G1 design. Something like from Soptlight Shockwave would be great.

I'm expecting some kick-ass articulation from MP Grimlock. Particularly the dino-mode. With those large snapping jaws able to move in all directions.

MP Grimlock is going to be great! For 200 USD he's got to be huge.

Masterpiece Grimlock is great news. Can't wait to start seeing some prototype pictures. Definitely buying this to go with my other 4 masterpiece figures.

He better be! I'm planning to display him with Robot Hero sharkticons around feet and wearing Universe Wheelie on his head.

And hooray for more Alternity. Depending on how much I like the convoy figures I'm probably going to order both colors of Megatrons as well.

This is awesome news if both are true. MP Grimlock will definitely be something to behold if he lives up to all the hype. And if he's to scale w/the rest of the other MP figures, he should be the tallest one yet, seeing as how he was taller than Prime in the series.

As for Alternity Megatron, we'll see. If I decide to buy Alternity Prime & I like him, I'll most likely buy Megs to go w/him.

One huge Yay! pretty much sums up my feelings towards the MP Grimock conformation and a small meh does the same for the Alternity news

According to Unitconversion.org, 13000 yen is $113 USD.

And we've all heard the MP grimlock rumor before, specifically last year at this time. I hope it's true, but I'm not holding my breath.
