Lugnut and Blitzwing

Hey, just asking for advice.
Over the beggining of next year I intend to collect the deranged duo, but I was wondering which to get first, i.e for christmas. Blitzwing looks cooler, and he has more play what with 3 modes, but are there any big flaws with him? I know Lugnut is Mini but i can live with that any other problems? Any hidden gimmicks? WHo do you prefer?
All opinions appreciated (-:

I've only got Blitzwing. He's pretty good. The back of his jet mode could be more solid, but the tank mode is great. The robot mode is great fun, plenty of articulation. I certainly don't regret getting him.

Many who own Lugnut have issues with the front panels of the airplane not staying together, but there are numerous topics about that along with ways to fix it. The power maul (or whatever it is) is pretty nice, as well as the articulation and transformation. The alt mode is one of the sharpest of the series, minus the comical oversized bombs (arms).
Blitzwing is fun, but I don't like the transformation all that much. In robot mode the wings kinda get in the way of the arm articulation, but it isn't that bad. In general, still a good figure.

I'd give Lugnut a 7/10, just because he isn't sized correctly for the rest of the series.
Blitzwing would be an 8/10. Not perfect, but still great.

Lugnut is a more stable figure--I find that my Blitzwing's treads are a bit floppy and don't like to stay put. His jet mode is cool, but just a bit broken up. You'll like his bot mode, though.

Lugnut is good all around, and I've never had any problems with the front panels locking in place. Plus, his weapon gimmick (power mace) is kind of cool to activate (slam it on the ground and the wings pop out...). Eventually, get them both. :)

Articulation = win for Blitzwing

Alt modes = win for Lugnut

Robot mode = win for Lugnut

Both are awesome figures. In my opinion Lugnut is the better figure, and the best of Animated line. Though I think you'd be better off getting Blitzwing, you'd probably like him better considering most people do.

If you want Lugnut, I would wait for the new Atomic repaint, which I think is ten times cooler than the Barney-purple version.

Get Blitzwing, he is a lot cooler, and what I heard of Lugnut will be a shelfwarmer for a time, so you can wait for him.

On a side note, the original colors of Lugnut are much better than the repaints.

Lugnut.

The figure is a gem.

Blitzwing is no slouch either, but as a figure alone Lugnut has him beat. If we want to count show presence though, Blitzwing has him covered.

Lugnut was a pleasant surprise for me. I got him mainly because he was the only Animated figure on the shelf that I didn't have yet and the ones I was really looking for weren't out. When I freed him from his plastic prison though, I was, as I said, pleasantly surprised by just how great a figure he is. He has a decent amount of articulation and is, by far, one of the most show accurate figures out. However, due to his rather top-heavy design and somewhat scrawny, stumpy legs, he is somewhat limited in his poseability, despite having good articulation.

Blitzwing was the last Voyager I was looking for to add to my collection, as I just wanted the core 'Bots and 'Cons (and of course the Dinobots) and was quite stoked when I stumbled across him sitting on a bottom shelf, almost out eyesight. When I opened him up, I was satisified with the figure, but to the same extent that I was with Lugnut. Blitzwing has a great looking robot mode, no doubt, and good looking tank mode, but the jet mode suffers horribly from tank-kibble. The back end is just one giant mess of tank parts hanging off it. He has a decent amount of articulation and strike some pretty good poses. Also, due to his more evened out design (not as top heavy as Lugnut), he is better balanced, but as was mentioned before, the wings tend to get in the way of his arms. Also, there's a pretty widespread problem with his biceps being assembled on the wrong sides, like the left bicep is on the right arm and vice versa. Another common flaw with Blitzwing is his face gimmick. It tends to, well, not work. The gears don't quite line up inside, thus making it rather difficult at times to rotate the faces using the wheel, but they can still be spun around using your finger.

Really, in the end, it all depends on which figure is more appealing to you. Had I seen Blitzwing and Lugnut on the shelf at the same time, I would have bought Blitzwing without hesitation and left Lugnut for another time. But knowing what I know now about the two figures, had I seen them at the same time, I would pick Lugnut.

Blitz, definitely. The amount of fun you can have with this toy is incredible. I like to put mine in a 'sieg heil' pose. Appropriate, yet so inappropriate.

BTW, to the other people that own Blitz, what are the buttons on his forearms for? It's fun pushing them, but like goggles they do nothing as far as I can tell.

They fit in with the alt modes. They are there to make him look nice as a bot, but to make the other modes work they fold down. At least, thats what i hear....
Thanks for the advice guys. Personally, though Atom-Lugnut's Shark teeth ROCKK! If I get Blitzwing too, I would rather have classic Lugnut, so they go together. I also like the purple and blue personally.

Ah, so that's what they're for. Y'see, when I opened mine, there was the most insidious twisttie/rubber band deathtrap around the rear of the jet. Seriously, without wire cutters, it'll take you 15 minutes just to ponder the problem and get majorly irritated about it. I discovered that you have to partly transform him to robot mode to get at the twisttie's dark heart. I never bothered transforming him again.
