kurdt_the_goat has sent us some new images of a prototype of TakaraTOMY's Alternity Megatron in alt mode and robot mode. These are the first actual images that we have seen of the toy. Previously, all that we have seen is the silhouette of what he would look like.

Alternity Megatron is due out in the first quarter of next year (March), and his partner Alternity Convoy is due out in January.

The Alternity line is similar to the previous TakaraTOMY Binaltech line, with real licensed vehicle alt modes, detailed robot modes, and die cast metal. These are, however, much smaller in scale than Binaltech were. These are about the size of a deluxe toy.

I think Convoy got the best design.

Where are you going to fit an arm cannon on a Fairlady? I love the swords! nice mold...

I think we need aclose up of the head mold soon - it seems to look a little off for Megs but indeed, great for Bludgeon.

I'll have to third the Bludgeon potential.

Turns out the arm cannon was really just the two swords mounded on his arm.


It would be cool if they were still somehow part of a Fusion Cannon, but that's just wishful thinking.

Megatron looks good to me. An arm cannon would be nice but I could live with the swords.

his face barley looks like megatron its very skinny and little bit on the skelton looking side if theres close up on his face then ill decide.

i kinda like the samuai look nice looking figure i find it weird for megtron that hes got a big crotch on his waist

It looks to me like there is some kind of device on his arms, but they look like claws...

Poor Megatron, everyone can sneak up behind him and he would never know. Might give Starscream a chance to bump him off though.

That could be something on his right arm but I doubt it, these types of figure are usually symetrical, mind you I cannot see the same thing on his left arm.

What the hell is that plate doing on the back of his head?

I think its a shame Binaltech didnt get a Megatron, would have rounded the line of nicely.

Swords but no Fusion cannon? That is Bludgeon not Megs.

Mold looks as good as the GT-R but the swords don't suit the character.

I'm kinda glad I passed on this line. They're way too expensive and this doesn't really look like a Megatron should... the special edition Universe one looks better than this guy. Convoy's pretty cool looking, but he's a sports car... I dunno. Not worth the price.

Glad they got the license to do awesome Nissans AFTER the Binaltech/Alternator line bit the dust.

Prowl and his mold-siblings should have been the Z, although I liked the Subaru a lot.

Megatron and Prime as cars is just silly if you ask me.

Won't be getting this miniaturized line, no matter how cool the cars are. They had a cool thing going with the BT/Alts, don't know why they're shifting scales and doing the exact same thing.

I would rather them charge more and keep the same scale than keep the same price point and shrink them.

Looks nice but yea, Bludgeon. That head doesn't look Megatron enough for me. I'd actually give these figures a chance if they cost Deluxe or possibly Voyager price but there's no way I'm paying more than Leader price for a figure that is only about Deluxe-Voyager size.

The stuff on his arm is just the door and window. I find this figure odd.

Because he has two swords everyone thinks he looks like Blud? I don't see it. I this he looks like Megatron with swords. I guess my eye isn't as sharp.

Bout Time they make a Bludgeon mold that not a repaint. I mean he even got a lil samurai armor thing goin on with the gauntlets and even sum armor on the pelvis with the 2 swords.

still probably buy it. I glad it got more weaponary then his gunless couterpart Prime and hope there a Purple or Black verison to go with the Silver one
