OPTIMUS PRIME

ALTERNATE MODE

The big (tiny) rig actually looks good with flames on the front and doors, silver accents and painted windshield (pictures don't show it). Working front and rear (1st set) wheels, the very rear ones are actually molded and hide a pivot point. Strangely, it only has one smokestack (on the right). It looks smaller than the Spychanger Prime, but they're actually the exact same size.

TRANSFORMATION

Nothing too fancy here but it's another interesting take. Split the top of the truck and fold down the halves to form the arms. Holding the arms/torso, rotate that whole unit to the back. Now split the front of the truck in two and fold back the halves to form the lower legs. Fold down the arms and you're done.

ROBOT MODE

Articulation is limited but decent : shoulders (ball joints) and hips (ball joints). Torso has painted windows on the chest (nice touch) and some cool sculpting on the chest and legs. Colors are kinda reversed compared to the other movie Primes (blue top, red pants) but I actually like it. Headsculpt is very nice, I wish the bigger Primes had that edgy feel. Overall, a much better toy than LOC Prime imo.

MEGATRON

ALTERNATE MODE

Still the recognizable unrecognizable cybertronian jet. Actually, the legs now being the wings, I think it looks much better than Voyager Megatron. Head is still a bit visible on top of the jet, but I think it looks better here than Voyager Megatron too.

TRANSFORMATION

Actually more interesting than Voyager Megatron's. Rotate wing tips, insert the little pegs in the holes on the wings to form the feet, extend the wings to form the legs, rotate at the waist, fold down middle part (cockpit) of the jet on the back (it will reveal the head and move forward a little piece in the centre of the chest, fold down the arms and rotate them in at the shoulders. You're down!

ROBOT

Much, much better than expect with very nice poseability at the head (ball joint), shoulders (ball joint), waist and hips (ball joints). Nice sculpting throughout with black and gold accents and red eyes. For such a small toy, it's VERY nicely done.

EEW! I told myself with the movie figures come out, just buy the legends, but looking at these doggie-chew toys, I can't even bring myself to do that. Ugly little monsters.

Even though I hate Cybertron Megatron I would love for him to pulverize the movie version

Boy they're tiny, even compared to the other Legends.

Megatron is kinda cute in an odd way, still a horrible design though.

Optimus is okay, but his robot mode doesn't look like him at all. The colours are all screwed up and he just doesn't look right.

I find it amusing that I'm the first to offer detailed pics and reviews for those 2 figures yet all 4 major fansites are totally ignoring them... and yet they frontpage the 12th gallery for Voyager Blackout.
