According to Lawson.jp there is an exclusive toy being offered with Transformers Movie tickets sold in Japan! As you can tell from the shadow image, it is obviously the Deluxe '74 Camaro Bumblebee mold, but what is not known is if this will be recolored as an exclusive, or if it will just be the original version being included with the movie tickets.
Stay tuned to Seibertron.com as more news regarding this develops.

The Japanese get a figure just for buying tickets to the movie? That sounds about right.

Well you have to think. People will rush for this movie in the States just because it's an action summer blockbuster. The Japanese however will need some convincing. What better way than a free toy of a transforming robot?

To be honest, when one buys a theatre ticket, isn't one paying to see the film, anyway? It's not like Westerners are actually losing anything.

Awwwww, an exclusive TF Fig would be awesome... Here's hoping they (meaning whoever's in charge of movie promos and whatnot) gets some sense before the release date on this side of the big pond.

They did create the transformers after all, so its their movie a little bit moreso.

How? It's a film made by an American company in America.
You're paying to see a film that is a celebration of the revival of your hobby. Does this community need a cheap plastic toy as an incentive to get them to do anything?

Well, it
is a bay film. With a stinker like Armageddon, might as well offer something.
Like raisen bran.....they could have just sold that as bran flakes, but they got an idea of putting a bunch of raisens in it too, and it worked.

I believe this is a toy that will be available for purchase with movie tickets in Japanese cinemas. It's not unusual- they do it for Godzilla films as well. In fact, they did it with the last TF theatrical release. Anybody remember Flash Lioconvoy?
