Well I'm new to the site but I was once blessed enough to have a massive collection.I collected from 84-93(I have forgot alot of things but it's starting to come back)
Man I wish I would have held on to all of them.
Anyway....I loved all Transformers but most of my collection consisted of combiners.I'm staring to rebuild my collection and just wanted to make sure I'm thinking correctly about what group(stunticons...terrorcons....etc.)make what combiner(Menasor...Abominus....etc.)
I will list what I remember(if I'm wrong about any please correct me....and if you have any more to add please do)as I mentioned before...it's been along time so I'm sure I've forgot alot of these.
I'm so glad I found this site.....it should be a blast trying to get a cool piece of my childhood back. :)

Menasor-Stunticons
Abominus-Terrorcons
Piranacon-Seacons
Superion-Aerialbots
Computron-Technobots
Bruticus-Combaticons
Devastator-Constructicons
Defensor-Protectobots
Predaking-Predacons
Dinoking-???
????-Trainbots
As mentioned before....If I'm wrong on any of these please correct me and also add any combiners I've forgot about.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Assuming you've checked the galleries on Seibertron (you have, haven't you?), TFU is another useful resource for toys.

I was snooping thru the gallery....but I didn't see any of the combiners(just in single robot form)
I'm really just trying to make sure my list of combiners is complete and accurate so I know what exactly I'm on the hunt for.

IIRC Dinoking was basically the Japanese versions of Monstructor and the Pretender Monsters and appeared in the Japanese Transformers: Victory TV show and toy line and were never officaially released in the USA s Dinoking by Hasbro.

The Trainbots formed Raiden (I think that was the name) and were part of the Japanese Transformers: Headmasters TV show and toy line and they were also never officially released in the USA by Hasbro.

Welcome pal.

You've actually tapped into the best resource you can (the fan community) by being polite right from the start.

Most everything you want or need to know is readily accessible if you just ask the right way.

As said before,

http://www.transformers.wikia.com for character/show info
http://www.tfu.info for toy info and parts picture/records
http://www.geocities.com/futuristgroup/vjap1.html for all things variant, exclusive, and obsessive (they rarely ever update though...)

So are you going to be combiners only this time around? This would make a very impressive collection!

Thanks for the info bro.
I still have much to learn and re-learn.

Thanks for the warm welcome. :D
I've only been a member here for a few days and it's already helped immensly(especially in refreshing what I once knew)
I can only imagine it will get better once I get to know the faces of the community.

I definetely want to get all the combiners I once had(almost everything I listed in my first post of this thread)
But I also must have anything that clearly sticks out from my mind as a child(Metroplex....Ultra Magnus....Motor Master....Hot Rod...and of course Megatron and Optimus Prime.
This is just the beginning of the list.....I have been digging thru old pics at my parents to see exactly what I had(I always hated when my Mom took pics but I'm glad she did now because she unwittingly captured just about my entire collection on film)just hard to make out some of them.

There's Breastforce -> Liokaiser. But a complete minty one's pretty much grail territory.

There are some other combiners:
micromaster size - they consist of 6 bots each:
Sixwing (reissued in the universe line as Superion - in name only)
Sixbuilder (Devastator)
Sixtrain (Rail Racer)
Sixturbo (Defensor)

Landcross

Road Ceasar only consists of 3 bots (3 headmasters!), but it is cool nevertheless

and in the energon line, there was a try to bring back the combiner technology:
Superion Maximus - the coolest one from the three
Bruticus Maximus
Constructicon Maximus

Don't forget Sixliner ;) He was remolded into Sixtrain.

And the components of Road Caesar were Brainmasters: instead of a head, the little figures turned into the face and brain of the larger robot.

And why are you forgetting poor Perceptor?! In Armada to Cybertron, Perceptor was a Mini-Con combiner made of three pieces: High wire, Grindor and Sureshock.

And that covers all the bases :P

Actually, all 4 of the "Rescue Force" have been rotting in a warehouse/shop right in the middle of the main TF mecca shopping district for YEARS now. Not only that, they're going for something like $7 each, MOSC.

It's a good buy, granted, but I don't think anyone can bring themselves to justify that insult to Liokaiser's memory by purchasing them.

Hmmm... Where do you say this shop is? I have 3 of the 4, the first one I had as a kid (the blue tank) and only missing the plane
the joke of the european reissues:
- the 4 Rescue Force members didn't even have names! (and the art on the card showed a red decepticon insignia on one of them while they were all reissued as autobots)
- the european manufacturer completely left out the combiner pieces of the 3 brainmasters...
- the european G2 yellow constructicons couldn't merge into Devastator (combiner pieces left out, and the connectors on some of them was removed from the mold! 8-} )

Sorry for the double post:

If you allready have Onslaught and Motormaster, I recommend buying a Trypticon too, they can connect and form a bigger base together

And likewise, Silverbolt and Hot Spot can connect to Metroplex in base mode.

All four leaders can connect to Metroplex actually:

CIT Metroplex entry

The complete combination is called "Scramble City" in Japan. Motormaster and Onslaught don't even need extra pieces to connect.

There's a G1 fig who's TECHNICALLY a combiner whom I'm planning to get a really nice one of - Overlord. My absolute limit is going to be around $800 though for a MIB one.

He's not a combiner, technically he is a Duocon.
