Did he still sell it to you? If he did then it wasn't recalled and if not they probably weren't in the system yet or they weren't supposed to be pegged yet (at least to his knowledge). Something like that. Or maybe some got pegged earlier, were pulled, and he mistook that for a recall.

I doubt they've been recalled, however, none of the Wal-Marts I went to, had even one.

I've seen both proto figures at Target and Walmart. Walmart had some goofy little display about how these are the preview figures of the new Transformers Movie line to be released on June 2 if I remember correct.

Seems like this is happening at quite a few Wal-Marts.

Don't know about you guys, but I loves me some Protoforms. Didn't think I was going to, just 'cause they turn into space-turds, but these guys rock!

Hey Nightwatcher thanks for moving the thread here, I guess I might check back at my local walmart tomorrow to see if they put them back on the shelf. Hate it when things like that happen.

It is the same thing that happened with the Spider Man 3 figs, some have hit the shelves before the street date and they pretty much refuse to sell anything that reads "cannot be sold" when they scan it.

I was told that the spidey 3 figs were recalled as well as it was something the managers / employees were told to tell people.
Don't worry they are not being recalled.

Only problem is that May 2nd was the release date for these figures. So the Do Not Sell shouldn't be popping up in their system. But like I mentioned in the other thread. Someone at HQ probably forgot to flip a switch or something.

This is wal mart we are talking about so this would not surprise me.

It's kind of weird that Walmart sold these figures about a couple of months ago on their website and now they get anal about breaking street date. It also suprises me that Walmart turned down money.

Lol I have to thank walmart for that cause now I think I am just gonna save some money and just wait for the nicer transformers figures to come out, I want Wreckage and my son wants Blackout. :D

so it's not really a recall then it is someone asleep at the wheel to flipping the switch on selling the toys? I still dont get it. 2 Weeks ago though, I was able to buy the Protoform Optimus Prime (witch suprisenly awsome BTW) and there was no problem. I think it's one of thouse "they ship it and put it out on the same day and a few days later, put the toys on the 'do not sell' list" situation like the Spider-Man 3 toys.
