THEY WOULDN'T SELL ME PRIME!!!

I've been reading the toy sightings section that so many states have released the Movie Preview Figures at Walmart.
So I checked everyday and today I finally saw them. So I went and picked up my son from kindergarten telling him the good news(he's only 6), we picked one off the shelf and went to pay. Along the way I kept using their price checkers to see how much it costs, and it says ask an associate for help.
So I just proceeded to just checkout, and the girl said $9.99. I said cool, but then she tried to scan it, it says sale not allowed. She asked around and they said maybe there's a recall on it. So after a long discussion, with my son getting less and less enthusiastic about it. They said they can't sell anything that the register won't allow. For fear of a recall. But none of them know why.
Just thought I'd post here to see if anyone has similar problem?

To be honest since i've never heard this happening before this sounds kind of weird.

Well, they couldn't legally sell them until the release date, May 1, but it sounds like they didn't update, or entered some info wrong. Sorry to you and your son tho. I bet he was freaking out. I would be.

A recall over what?

This appears to be happening at all Wal-Marts. There is another person having the same problem in the movie forum. Sounds like someone at WM HQ forgot to flip a switch.

Ramses made a post in the Movie Forum about having exactly the same problem. It's the "Movie Preview toys recalled?" thread.

Would really appreciate it if everyone would move their comments over to the other thread that I just moved here to the toy forum. Thanks.
