That box looks in great condition and the colours are still bright and shiny. Are you intending to open that bad boy up? I'd advise against it as there can't be many more left and you could probably pick a good condition, complete loose figure for your transforming needs.

BTW Welcome.

I agree, you should keep it as immaculate as possible and pick up a loose one to play with, several of you have missing parts. MISB figures can be re-sold much higher than you bought it the longer it remains inside the box.

Welcome ! :)

Keep it in the box ang get loose figures to form Bruticus/Ruination.

(Yeah, I know I paid a pretty penny for this, but it's my first in twenty years) :D

Also decided to obtain four RID Rollbar figures as drone warriors, sort of a ground-based counterpart to the Seekers and Sweeps.

With three different incarnations of Combaticons to choose from, I can mix and match weaponry and body parts at my leisure. Question is, would Ruination's head and chestplate look better on G1 onslaught than the original Bruticus?

You don't have any idea how deep the rabbit hole actually is, do you?

You're going to love this hobby, and learn to hate us fans!

It's the circle of life.

welcome to the fold

You can mix and match Brutty/Ruination parts since they're the same toys.

Welcome to the club Siegemortar!
(or should we call you "makechoochoogonow")? :P

as everybody else has said, keep that guy mint in package. buy a replacement to fiddle with. All you would be doing is raising the value of everyone else's who kept it sealed. The box condition is too nice to open up.

And as to your mixy-matchy question, yeah, you can. Personally I actually prefer the Ruination parts. They fixed all the flaws that the original Combaticon parts had - the chestplate actually has a notch at the bottom so it holds in place, and there's a hole in Mega-Octane's cannon and a post on the ramp. There's a lot of other subtle mods too. Basically, where Bruticus has a lot of extraneous parts, Ruination can use almost all of his parts almost all of the time (pretty much only the super-robot's hands, feet and head, and Mega-Octane's chest plate need be left off in other modes).

The decision has been made: Siegemortar will be freed from his plastic prison so he and his fellow Combaticons can terrorize the world of Seibertron. :D

Dood, just watch out for stray blasts. Wouldn't want to get scarred up your first day out of the box.

Your choice young one :P

But its still a shame to open him. He can be worth the double about 10years.

It't not always about the value, its about the pleasure that the toy gives the owner. :D

Congratulations on enjoying your toy.

I agree. It seems a shame to spend so much money on a toy and not even be able to touch it. I'm unable to keep a figure MISB. I've tried but the figure keeps calling me to open it. I think the only way I could do it is if I have an exact duplicate of a figure.

It's each to their own really, but I can't let a fig stay MIB. I am not sure that I would keep a figure MIB even if it was 30 years old. I love the whole concept of being the first to touch it, to handle it to feel how it feels. to enjoy the tactile sensation of cold metal or warm plastic.

I got though opening a 23 year old Vending machine toy for the first time and put it to gether. That was just pure joy. I was all grins and giggles knowing I was the first to handle it since it was put into the ball by some poor underpaid worker.

My husband thinks its silly to keep them sealed in boxes because "they're transformers and are meant to be transformed". He is one of those, whatever floats your boat type though.

Hardcore TF collecters will be pleased to find out that I've changed my mind concerning the status of my MISB Onslaught as he'll be going into stasis instead.

In the meantime, I've purchased a MOSC Mega-Octane (what the hell kinda name is that, yuck!) and plan to customize him with G1 Onslaught parts, namely that queer-looking orange double cannon and his neutered sonic stun gun. ;)

I received my four rollbar figures yesterday, and besides the orange chestplates, they are the best-looking Swindle bots yet -- even better than the original.

I promise to post pics when done.
