High resolution pictures have been posted on TF08.net for Alternity Silver Convoy. The pictures reveal lots of details. This figure was due to be released in January, but it has obviously been delayed. These pictures may be an indication that this figure will be released soon. Click here to see additional images.

To be honest... alt mode looks a mess. Gaps are too wide, and don't follow the logical gaps in the real vehicle.
Robot mode is cool enough, but this shouldn't have been a Convoy / Prime...

I hope its the photos that are messed up and not the lines of the casting.

Looks smart but I think it will be a fiddle to get it perfect.

Literally my thoughts exactly-a mess. So much promise in these but, IMO, they're just too small to deliver on their potential. If these had been different characters and Alternators sized, they'd be great. About the only thing I like about Convoy is his head.

I agree with everything said above. Also, $50 is a pretty steep price tag. The alt mode gaps are just too wide and noticable.

i do really like the head though, and i like the robot mode a lot, but I don't know if i'll get this, the other color, or any of the fairlady Zs for $50.

And i wish it wasn't convoy/OP either.

The price tag has always been a big factor in my mind... but i was open minded. The hood gaps/front bumper gaps are a deal breaker 100%. I can excuse rear and side panel gaps... but when the front of a sleek and sexy car like this barely fits together its a total no go for me.

There will always be gaps. Doesn't bother me. At least they're not like Ironhide gaps. This look awesome.

Looks like the hood isn't properly closed so there's massive gaps. With that said I'm skeptical the gaps are really as large as shown. This looks awesome and there's lots of detail. I'm happy to have it on preorder.

I do not like the head. Also the HAS/TOMY stamp is too obvious in bot mode.

One more note: if you look carefully at the additional images on the site http://www.tf08.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=198, you'll see in alt mode, the panels are not tabbed in, so it's not properly transformed, causing massive gaps.

Glad to see the new photos. I think the bot mode looks great but the car mode too sliced up. The hood looks like it's painted plastic which I think is bad if true since that's one of the main areas to make metal since it's so large.

They should have made the figure larger to proper accommodate petal pieces. I personally would have preferred the fit and finish of all plastic for this scale.

I'm also not too crazy about the engine being stuck to the back of the head of this and the Megatron model and would have liked the contrast and dynamic of light-piping instead.

Regardless, I still like the uniqueness of this line and think the Convoy and Megs figures will make a great pair.

The "gappy" look is also why I pre-ordered this model in black so as to hide it a little.

Is it me or does his head look like Unit 01 from Evangelion?

It's definitely no Prime. I could have seen this as Prowl, Silverstreak or even a Jazz design.

I do like the anime/mecha style head sculpt and it does fit in with the whole overall design but I just don't see this as a Prime/Convoy figure. He needs to be a bigger, chunkier, hardcore vehicle.

Like, I don't know, a truck maybe? LOL

And the price here in Oz is going to be too steep (if it comes out over here).

It's not ever gonna be Convoy to me, but I gotta admit that I like the mold, alt and bot

I hope its just a badly transformed example. If it isnt then I hope Tomy/Takara see that Binaltech was better and go back to it.

Um...this figure looks amazing. I can't wait. The fact that it doesn't look like Convoy is a massive plus for me. I just wish Megsie didn't look so much like Megsie.

I'm sick of always getting Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee and Starscream every time there's a new toyline. I'd rather treat them as different, possibly original characters. I'm personally not convinced the line will last long enough to give us anyone obscure or new.

Those pictures look good, I just hope he gets released soon.

It feels like forever since I put my preorder in for this guy. And really want to ship my Pile Of Loot at BBTS.

If anything, I wish this was in scale with the Binaltech figures. Other than that it looks impressive, like Takara tried to emulate the look of the movie characters.

I had Alternity Convoy in my hands yesterday. I kept turning the package over and over while thinking "is this little guy worth the Yen 3800 price tag?" He's basically the size of Universe Prowl. Displayed next to him were the Binaltech figures that were twice the size and only cost Yen 4700. I decided not to get him.
