Was doing some surfing and found a white repaint of Dinobot, in the Beast Wars storyline, is this cool? It looks real good, and would love to get it, just don't know how much its worth. Anyone have this and if you do are you satisfied with it? Oh yeah, how much did you pay for it?

It's cool but not really? It's just an albino Dinobot .It sat in a box in my basement for like 8 years until the Gathering book confirmed it to be the real Big G last year so its a completist piece. I paid less than 10 at KB I think so I'm no help on value but I know its real rare now.

His tech spec confirmed it was G1 Grimlock long before The Gathering ever did.

Why was Grimlock an albino raptor (or whatever Dinobot was)?!?
How does that in anyway reflect G1 Grimlock?

It was just an homage repaint, similar to the ones we see now. There were also Buzzsaw and Laserbeak, which were repaints of Waspinator and Terrorsaur, respctively.
I like my BW Grimlock, but be warned that his plastic is very brittle. He shouldn't be anything more than $20-$25 loose/complete/nice, but if you're getting him carded, prepare to pay well over $50.

quoted for truth
He definitly suffers from GPS (Gold Plastic Syndrome for the uninitated)
mine lost it's "mutant" head the first time I transfomred him, also the holes in the back of his robot legs crumbled.

He's not so much albino as light grey with spots. I always liked him.
I got the Dinobots variant, which is darker grey and red though.
Here are pictures of the BW character.

the new IDW BW comic it shows that Dinobot is one of the last Surviving Autobots and he was reformated as a Raptor like Dinobot is. so for the toy the just repainted a Dinobot figure. and Grimlock was originaly a T-Rex...allthough i would like to see T-Rex Grim vs T-Rex Megs.

I assumed his BW: The Gathering incarnation was supposed to be a Megaraptor or something, though the sickle claws are understated even for that...
Anyway, I didn't get the toy at the time because I thought he looked like a Dairy Cow.

Grimlock could be ANY type of raptor-like dinosaur, since it had been shown that sometimes a beast mode can be bigger than the original animal. After all, Waspinator is bigger than a "real" wasp. If Grimlock's protoform scanned a 5 foot tall dinosaur, but he was a huge protoform, he'd be bigger than the real animal, but shaped like one. Heck, he's bigger than Megatron, who is a T-Rex, but he's a small T-rex. I'm certain Rampage didn't scan a 15 foot long crab.

This is very true, but I remember the dinosaur depicted not looking like a traditional dromaeosaur. The first claw on the foot was slightly large but not a large sickle. The body was bulky and more powerful relative to the size. The snout was shorter with more and smaller teeth.
I can't double check my comics though b/c they've already been moved.

Speaking of BW Grimlock, check out this knockoff I found. Not only do they call him "Dinobot", but they had his robot mode seriously mis-transformed.

Yeah, the helmet head on mine crumbled away long ago but it looks better that way so I don't mind. I don't care what techspecs say about characters. If you go by them, the BWs Prowl & Razorclaw are the originals too.

So is there any hope in finding this guy at BotCon?

At botcon I can guaruntee you there will be at least one in circulation by a seller, how fast it sells and how expensive it is the question...
As for the gathering comic, to me he seemed more like a T-rexish kind of thing (even though i know his toy is just a repaint of dinobot) because he was BIG, even for a larger sized raptor.

I hope a decent price. I will be taking a lot of money so maybe it won't be that bad.
