hk-tf.com- The new 'Gear of War' set that promises to enhance the weaponry of our beloved Universe and Classics figures has met with a lot of cheers, but a few jeers.

One of the main jeers was that the missiles and their launchers looked too large for the robots, and thus, were possibly not worth a purchase.

Well, apparently this is being rectified because new images of the reduced missiles compared to the original versions have shown up on hk-tf.com. Click the link to view the thread, but the images of the comparisons are also posted below.

I think it's pretty stupid how the rockets and missile colors will be randomly assorted. I'm still on the fence about this set. I don't see why all the colors couldn't be included.

Given the target audience for these, wouldn't it make sense to include versions for all the characters who need them? Black launcher with silver missile for Sideswipe, smaller version of same colour for Mirage, black launcher and red missile for Red Alert, etc? I'd be happy to buy a set that was a load of missiles, launchers, and the Auto Scout without the ladder.

So they're no longer compensating. I might get this set.

Mirage's missile still seems too big.

Resizing the missiles is a great move, not including all the colours in one set is stupid. I hope they change this cause i'd gladly buy a set or two if they did.

Yeah, it's really stupid to have the missiles in random colors and come with the ladder and Autoscout. Why not sell them each separately?

Yeah, "mix n matach" may work for pokemon cards, but not for a set we're paying 30-40 bucks on. Include them all or provide a way for us to get the missile colours we want.

Random colors? I would like to pay randomly. Anyway, All I want is the ladder for Inferno.

I have to say..I've been really digging this set from the get-go but now I'm having my doubts after seeing those images...

The mix & match thing is a big turn-off and the autoscout really doesn't look that great (especially not compared to the iGear one)...The ladder is still cool but I'm starting to question whether or not I REALLY it enough to bother with this set...

Can anybody tell me how the silver missle fits on Mirage as there is no hole there like on Sideswipe. I thought it clipped on before but now I see that the launchers for him have a peg too.

I don't think missles can ever be "too big" when we're talking about a race of WARRING ROBOTS. But that's just me.

I agree with Magnus on this. When it comes to ordnance SIZE DOES MATTER!! Besides, after looking at those pictures it was like looking at a 12 ounce can and then making a 10 ounce can to put next to it. Not a whole heck of a lot of appreciable difference there. And for the size of the missle launchers we only get 2 out of the 3 and the colors are random. Yeah, I'll be appreciating that when I'm holding my red and silver launchers in one hand and my black and white Prowl figure in the other wondering where the hell my black missle launcher is to offset his white one. I'm not trying to be a whiner just poining out that they are making a marketing error if they wish to keep the sellabliity of this package at it's peak. The drone I like, the ladder I don't need and the missle launchers would be cool but...

Awesome, that was enough to get a pre-order out of me. Now I just need Inferno to show up at retail in Australia.

THIS SUCKS!! I loved the missles as they were pictured. i dont want different colors, nor do I want smaller missles because a few online nerds were complaining about the size. But of course someone has to ruin it for the rest of us. So NO, I am not buying these anymore.

AND!!.... search the database on here for G1 Mirage and tell me the original planned missle size for this set is any bigger than the G1!!

They were random now they aren't. The "Mix and Match" is that the missiles detach from the launches and you can mix and match the colors however you want.

Ok, first off: you're here. That makes you an "online nerd." Second, us nerds are the target audience for this. Third, you're the only person I've seen complain about this, so it would seem more accurate to say that everyone else has ruined it for you. Finally, I don't quite understand what you're complaint about the missiles colour is. Before you would have got a randomly-coloured set. Now you get one of each and can mix the colours however you want. Isn't that better?
