For Transformers fans in the United Kingdom, this news one might find both frustrating and saddening. By going to Hasbro Toy Shop.co.uk, you will see a message which reads the following:

Dear Valued Hasbro Customer,

This site is no longer operational, contact our Customer Services department for any questions either by:
  • Freephone on 00800 2242 7276.
For future purchases of Hasbro Toys and Games please visit your local retailer.

For all Hasbro’s latest Toys, Games & News continue to visit our corporate site at:
http://www.hasbro.co.uk

Thank You

As one may see, no reason is given for their closure, but it is most probably due to low sales and the current state of the economy.

To be honest, as a UK TF collector, this makes sod all difference. HTS UK didn't carry exclusives or offer any incentive to buy from them over other retailers. I'm guessing most people felt the same way and that's what has led to this closure.

Bothers me not a wit, I buy from BBTS. In fact I have done ever since Hasbro UK didn't stock the exclusive Drag Strip, which I felt was a shame.

This thought (or at least the the crap economy part of it) occurred to me even before reading the post, just by reading the subject. Really sad that things are this bad though.

Well, in Editor's case I can get something for him, run it 1 hr. up the freeway and chuck it over the fence to him and feel good about a job well smuggled, but unfortunately it sounds like Hasbro is going to hose everyone else. Either that or it is just closing that particular division and consolidating. It may just take a little while before things are restructured. In the long run though, many of you outside the U.S. may just want to take advantage of your U.S. counterparts who are short on scruples to find new and imaginative ways to get you the stuff you need. After all, we're the guys who, if we cant get thru, over or around a freakin' border, team up with the other side to get UNDER it! Tell us what toys your after and we'll INVENT a way to get 'em to ya if need be. I hear Predator drones have decent range and some cargo capacity.

Oopps, gotta go! 3 Black S.U.V.'s just pulled up the drive... #-o
