I have an opportunity to get one or the other and frankly I cannot decide.

I know the Takara versions of transformers are usually better, but to me they look pretty darn close.

The SDCC one actually looks a little more G1 with the flames on his hood as opposed to the white stripes...

Any suggestions?

I got SDCC version and love him, although KISS may be more desirable for collectors.

The only other difference between the two, besides the paint, is the Kiss version comes with the fishing pole/arm guns. for one arm, not both.

You can get past that by putting Cybertron Clocker's pipes, or any of his various repaints, onto Roddy. They just seem to fit right into the end of his forarm, near the elbow, and look sweet.

I'd buy the SDCC one and use the saved cash to get a clocker.

Depends, if you want a piece of awesomeness in your collection then go and get the SDCC one.

But if you want a paedophile then go and get the Kiss Play one.

It goes down to nostalgia or paedophilia, you decide.

The SDCC version is much less expensive, and has a more G1 accurate paint job. The fishing pole included with the KISS Players version is nothing special.

I think the kiss one looks a helluva lot better to tell the truth…even if it is less G1. But for half the price, I admit, I'd settle for SDCC.

That's pedophile. Last I heard,Syaosyao's age is over 18 years old. Pedophillia is getting the hots for kids so enough of this false sense of outrage over having girls partnered with Transformers. Sure the character design caters to the lolli crowd but no way is this pedophillia.

For Kiss version, in addition to the undie flashing figure & fishing pole, there are also a TF radio drama CD and pork buns in steamers. I would recommend Kiss version, you gotta have a little of that pedophile thing to spice up your life.

Personally I have yet to buy either Rodimus, and will probably be purchasing the SDCC version in a few months.

I have both. I got the Kiss one a while before SDCC came out with theirs and got that when it seemed reasonably priced on ebay. I like Hot Rod.

I liked the SDCC one better. It looks real slick with the flames. Just ... right. I gave it the Kiss player's fishing rod pipes.

I went with G1 accuracy. No regrets.

They were posted long ago before the great crash, I think it was Cassie that posted the picks, I'd ask her.

There was a report of a KO SDCC Rodimus so be careful. It was a VERY good knockoff as far as looks but I don't know about plastic quality. I was worried about buying the Rodimus from BBTS when they had it on sale for $40 but I compared it with the pics and it was 100% legit.

KP version is nicer.

Thanks for pulling that up. They are not quite as flush against his arms as they could be, but pretty good for not haveing to do any customization!

The KISS version is much nicer. The paint job is excellent. The accessories definately add to it. Lots of cool artwork on the box.

I have the KISS version. Not had him on display for a while what with the limited space but its a very good looking plastic Binaltech type. Nice and shiny.

Save yourself a little , go with the SDCC and some Clocker pipes.

There aren't holes to fit the Clocker pipes. You have to clear plastic band them on.

Get the KP version.
