Excellent. I look forward to paying 5-9 times what the mould is worth to get Gentai Dirge.
Goddamn my Dirge love.

Thanks for the post. Glad to see confirmation that the thrusters are detatchable. I'm looking forward to Dirge and Thrust being released and being able to complete my seekers set.

Back to the Team Fortress Scout update for me

I think the BotCon one looks genuinely better, but this is an interesting variation.

Nice ! I really hope Hasbro sees an oppurtunity to cash in and relesse Thrust and Dirge in the USA retail market. For every person willing to spend fifty bucks online there will be 100 guys like me who would love to snag him at Wal-Mart for $12.99 !
Common Sense = MAJOR PROFIT !!!
Hasbro Im begging you not to make the same mistake you did with Thundercracker...
Peace

I Agree, the botcon one is much nicer.
I don't have the botcon version, but I'm glad I skipped on this one, I'd be disappointed at that price.
If it was a general JP release or even a US store exclusive for maybe $20, then OK, but it's not worth that $$$ for me.

Yea, except he was more like $90 here in the US.

Seconded, if the botcon seekers were available at retail, I dont think anyone would touch Henkei Dirge
I kick myself for only ordering one set of 'games of deception'

Actually, Thundercracker, Dirge and Thrust were all part of the botcon boxset so you are out of luck on seeing those three at retail.

Let's break that down a little using your math.
Let's say there are 500 people in the US who are shelling out for the JP limited release. That's an estimate but it's probably a fair (if not high) estimate for really serious US collectors who are aware of this figure's pending release and buying it. If we use your math, we'd have 50,000 people willing to buy this figure as a Hasbro release. If Hasbro makes 8 dollars per figure that it sells, which is probably a very high estimate, that's only $400,000.
If we multiply that times 2 for both figures, that's still less than 1 million dollars.
That's not major profit in my book (thinking corporately) and probably not for Hasbro either.
Common sense right now means limiting repaints that need additional molds and just do straight repaints like Acid Storm and Universe SS.

awesome although looking at the pannels of the toy I kinda fear that the quality of this guy will be bad.

Yeah, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my set will have good paint apps. I was pretty lucky with TC-he looked really good.

I surely wish these guys weren't so pricey...I'd snap them up in a jiffy if they were a bit more reasonable...

well since ebay seases to surprise so far i checked to see how much botcon version its almost 300 forbot con version so ill be getting this version instead.
but by looking at the pictures lokos like you can put the engines on top of the wings to have more of a g1 look to it instead of the tail wings they have it in the images as shown there.

It's not the paint that concerns me I love the paint on my Henkei Seekers it's the flopyness and mould deterioration I'm afraid off.

I like the way his face was painted, but, all in all, I'm happy I have my BotCon set. I prefer the wings on the Boton set imensely.
Also, I have very little compunction to ever buy a "complete" set of seekers again, now that I have all the Classics styled seekers.
I'd have gotten Acid Storm (or whatever his name was) if it weren't for the army camo-stylings, if he had just been a green styled seeker.
And I'd still get a Sunstorm...

I don't normally buy henkei either, but this'll be the second figure I've ever seriously even thought about (the other being megatron, which I did buy). I hope places like action hq or bbts carry it, because i want it.

Thrust is the only seeker I don't have. I paid what I thought was a fair price for Botcon Thundercracker and Dirge on ebay and am still happy with my purchase. When the news of Henkei Thrust came out I was initially excited and blindly pre-ordered one but after seeing more pics I just can't get past the coloring on the wings and have since cancelled my pre-order. I figure that one day I will get lucky on ebay with the superior Botcon version.

I like the idea of the fans being able to attach to both front and back wings, but I still find the BotCon one superior. All these different versions of the Seekers get confusing for me as a collector, I don't know which exclusive version I wanna get

He looks nice but he's a bit expensive, so I may need to think about getting him.

First Hasbro failed to get his wings right, and now TakaraTomy fails too.
Come on, guys. Is it so hard to make it so his wings with the turbines come out from the middle of his side in vehicle mode, and then have them stay on his legs in robot mode?

I like them folded up in robot mode. Besides, with the wings being so long on the G1 figure, wouldn't they limit leg articulation if they kept it that way on the remake?

I admit, I like the Botcon version better, but having not discovered the transformers community online or even heard of Botcon at the time they came out in the States I never really had a chance to get one. (and not pay stupid eBay prices) So its one of these for me to complete my seekers. I wonder if I can split the fan top and bottom and custom it onto the wing properly? Guess its a wait and see thing. Does anyone know what dissolves Henkei paint apps? (without dissolving the plastic) Meths works beautifully on Hasbro ones, but has not had any effect on my henkei customs.
